Just confused so there's 3 sizes then 6-3/4, 7-5/8 and 7-4/4 for example this one on ebay

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...107531&alt=web

It's a little confusing but I think the broad range of sizes may have to do with capacity as some are 5 shot and some are 8 shot. I can tell you that on my 5 shot, the 6 3/4 worked with the Hogue adapter nut.

Converting the "Big 5 Special" Mossberg 500 forend will cost a little bit of cash... I think all said and done it was maybe ~$100 in parts (incl. Hogue Stock/Forend) from MidwayUSA.

If the OP hasn't figured it out yet, PM me and I can send you a list of the parts required along with at Hogue Overmolded stock/forend. The factory 1-piece plastic POS is just really loose and feels as cheap as it looks. But that's honestly in the eye of the shooter if they want to swap it out or not. It functions just fine otherwise.

Perfect sense now, yes I like the hogue forend. The 6 inch isn't bad, so with the 6 inch and the hogue nut, I can use whichever forends want

I had the one with the PG and the barrel heat shield (WHY??). It wasn't pleasant to shoot. 3" mag shells were all ways entertaining when someone else tried them for the first time.

I do not understand why anyone wants a pistolgrip on a shotgun. Useless in my views.

I can understand if it's a stock that has a pistol grip, but pistol grip only? No thanks.

Similar experience. Shot about 1000 rounds through mine then decided I wanted wood furniture so I upgraded buying used parts. Have around 6,000 rounds through it and it runs quite fine.

The size of the action tube only has to do with the forend. The barrel or even the mag tube length does not matter.
