Which CZ 455?

recently i visited some shops and they have different CZ455 available. but i don't know which one to get.. i wish i can have them ALL!

CZ455 LUX

or

CZ455 American

i plan to put a scope on it later on, but need to save up for that. so LUX in the meantime would allow me to shoot it.

both have wood stock and i love them both, yet i never shot them before!

any suggestions? much appreciated!

The scope will seem high on the Lux. I have both and would go with the American if you are planning on a scope.

I have the CZ 455 American. I agree with SdJoe, scope would look better on American however still do-able on Lux or Trainer.

With a dilemma like this you'd better buy both, shoot the American scoped and get an Ultra Lux for strictly irons.

I put a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 AO on my 455 VPT and really like it. Surprising how crisp and clear the glass and reticle are through the full range of magnification. The adjustable objective is great for plinking small objects or trying to stack rounds on paper. And the service and warranty with Vortex is outstanding. My other rimfire scopes are Nikon Prostaff, which for the money are tough to beat.

I have 3 452's all with the hogback stock and never wish I had an american stocked rifle. I will eventually pick one up, however I like being able to shoot irons at will and throw a 2-7x if necessary. No cheek weld issues but then again i'm not trying to clover leaf at 100 yards.

I also have a set of BRNO aperture sights and williams aperture sights and having the front sight on the trainer/UL lets you throw these sights onto your receiver to change up your shooting experience. You lose that ability with the american barrel. May not matter to you.

Last thing, I would opt for the trainer over the lux just for the tangent sight. The sight on the lux is not as interesting to me

I have the 455 with bull barrel in .17 hmr. A close friend of mine whom is in the know recommended I try the Cabelas Pine Ridge Tactical
scope on this particular rifle. At about $150 it is a great deal. Bottomed line: one of the best value optics I have ever used. Has maintained zero for over a year of abuse/ hunting/cleanings/you name it. I shoot and hunt with this rifle OFTEN. I haven't re-zeroed since initially doing so over a year ago. I like the cabelas pine ridge scope because it was inexpensive , retains zero, and comes with several different caliber ballistic drop turrets which are spot on outside of 100yd shots. My 2cents. Warne 721 medium scope rings and Weaver V16 or V24 scope will be the cats azz for a good setup at 100 yards.

I used a set of Vortex Viper rings on a DIP mount.

There is no Cabelas Pine Ridge Tactical Scope presently. Either it was discontinued or they changed the name.
