this is why officers dont have the final decision, if needed talk to a superior or go talk to a judge
if it can chamber, and fire a rimfire then its a rim fire rifle and does not need a mag lock
you cant even place a centerfire mag inside the magwell as the rimfire bolt wont allow it without causing damage
and if you want to play it safe just take one of those crappy cable gun locks were forced to buy for every handgun and thread it through the centerfire bolt carrier
then there is no way you could accidentally insert into the ar, that is if you bring it with you to use later in the day
