I bought an SR22 for $265 used in great shape. I like it a lot. I wanted the Walther, but after holding them both for a while, the SR22 grip was about 1/8" longer and that JUST made a difference for my big hand. Also the slide on the Walther is not steel, it is pot metal. I sort of worried what would happen if I dropped it.

Nice PPT pick up. I'd jump on one for that price. Trying to get another 22 for my girlfriend.

SR22 owner with 10k+ rounds down the barrel, mostly bulk ammo with the mix of high velocity. I've only had to replace a roll pin in the rear of the slide. Very good gun if you can pick one up.

The 2 Phoenix Arms HP22's in my home eat all junk. Just no stingers per manufactures recommendation. My favorite .22 in my collection. Just as or more accurate than my MKIII, less finicky about ammo and way fewer FTFs with hollow points. Fun fun fun without breaking the bank. You could get 2 for the price of the others you are looking at.

            I've had two P22s and an SR22.

My first P22 was the pre "Q" version and broke. It was replaced under warranty after about 6 months. The one they sent me to replace it was a new "Q" model. Nicer gun, but still not as nice as the SR. The Ruger feels better made, proved more reliable, and bonus is that the slide is not made of zinc alloy.

Also, I doubt it would have taken 6 months for ruger to fix it if it broke.

I bought a new P22Q for my daughter and we like it so far. It had few FTF and misfires but it was around 200 rounds or so. Rounds go fast too you don't notice like with other calibers. The reason why I got this Walther is because my daughter liked the way it fits. She's 7. Second reason is that the suppressor adapter is only 25 bucks and it unscrews easily. There is barrel cover tube though so the real barrel is very thin. I live in another state so for me it's a perfect fit. If I was a Californian, I'd probably get Ruger as they are more reliable and eat any ammo you feed it. The threaded barrels are around $100 or so and you don't need it anyway so it might fit you better. Check out youtube videos too.

Price comparison... The "off roster" SR-22 Ruger has been selling for around $500 on Calguns while the Walther P22 is selling for around $300 -350

The P22 has a cheap slide made of zinc alloy which will reduce the life of the gun. The SR-22 has a metal slide which should last longer.

I own a SR-22 for this reason and have not had any problems at all. Has eaten anything I put through it.

However when my daughter shoots it we have had a few FTFs. As she has shot more she has less issues. I told her she is "limp wristing it" which causes feeding issues. Very happy i bought this gun for her. I got it Nov. 2014 as it was one of my last SSE transactions.

SR22 is for plinking cans not for tight groupings on paper. Not as accurate as a 22/45 but has been very reliable with any ammo it's been fed. Can't ask for much more than that in a .22lr pistol.

I liked my 22/45 almost as much as my Buckmark, but the field stripping on the Ruger 22/45 was a bit tough so I sold it. Both the Buckmark and 22/45 are probably the two most accurate 22LR pistols you can buy. Of course I would love to get my hands on a PPQ 22LR pistol, but I don't want to spend $600 plus on a rimfire pistol.
