Most people who have sent their HP22A back for warranty repair report that you can only send it back twice before they tell you to get lost. So "lifetime" means "two repairs".

Also, since you have to use standard velocity ammo which costs twice as much as cheap high velocity ammo from Walmart, after 10 bricks of ammo it would have been cheaper to buy a Ruger MkIII.

I have had my little Phoenix hp22a for a couple of years now and never had a problem with it. I think for the money it's a fun little gun to shoot. It has been as reliable as more expensive 22 pistols but I only have about 500 rounds through it.

Must have piece in any collection. Like this more than my MKIII. Made wife get one of her own,just because having two around is very nice. They shoot strait and are very reliable. Add the pinky extended mags and it is even better.

Must do the mag saftey removal in order to get a tool that operates like most other guns. People who have done this still get warrantee work done by the factory. I would not worry about voiding it. I cut both places on both guns.( see YouTube)
The old one has about 1500 rounds thought it with only bad ammo( unusable in some guns) causing any hiccups. Pick up a used target barrel for cheap. Never use it because the short barrel gets me 9/10 on the bowling pin at 75 yards consistently .

Word of warning. The price is low because it uses an alloy frame instead of steel. There is a very thin part of the frame on the left rail mid gun. This area tends to crack from high powered ammo. Don't use stingers or HV and it is good to go. It feeds more hollow points and types of ammo than the finicky MK III.
The mag release must be pressed when inserting a mag. The notch catch is not ramped, and hooks up at that point on insertion. The notch is about 2/3,s inserted. Press release a quick tap ,and slip it home? The inardes are MIM or some soft metal. If you do a slam home with your mags, it won't last. I want the smiles to keep coming out of the best buy in .22 pistols ever.

I own a little Baretta Bobcat 25 Auto. Similar to your Phoenix Arms. It is a really fun little gun to shoot ... It is so small and light you can carry it in your bathing suit pocket! That being said, I would not want to shoot anybody with it, the most you would do is really piss them off !

I have 2 hp22s and my first one gave me some minor problems...I took the gun apart and dremeled the frame by the take down (lever?). and on the slide, since then perfect gun and never had a misfire with many kinds of ammo. haven't tried it with my new one yet but I have a feeling the frame and slide come together and hit a little too much which causes malfunctions. great fun for around $150 and the mags are $11 each makes for a good shooter for new to firearms people.

I have one, I got the deluxe range set and I only shoot it with the long barrel. Decent accuracy, no issues so far. Like others have said, stick to standard velocity ammo and you'll be fine. I have other 22s so this was just to have a ring of fire gun my collection.
