If you are looking for a recoil pad to lengthen the LOP I don't know of one for the synthetic stock. On my synthetic stock I cut the stock flat. I then cut a piece of 3/4" plastic and trimmed it with a router. I put a grindable pad on that to get a 1.5" extension. They make one for the wood stock. If you are looking for a recoil pad to keep the stock from slipping you can put some non-skid tape on the butt plate.
You do not have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you!

I'm picking up my 10-22 contest winner anniversary Ruger today. When I bought it I looked at the rear sight and it was not obvious how to adjust it. I'm hoping the instructions are in the owners manual

To 56huck...good luck with that, I didn't find any but doesn't really matter since I threw on a Simmons scope.

My reasoning for wanting to install a buttpad is not for the recoil, but for keeping the plastic buttpad locked into my shoulder when shooting in different positions.

Here's the specific 10/22 OP is talking about. I've got one on order. There is another general discussion thread here: Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Model

          re: sight adjustment

I saw specific discussion over at rimfirecentral.com but can't find the posts now. Anyway, I believe these sights adjust exactly like mini-14 or the Gunsite Scout.

See RGS manual here (starting page 30): http://ruger-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/_...ScoutRifle.pdf

eta: Found the thread on RFC. It's a BIG thread but tons of useful info/feedback. Ruger 50th anniversary winner 10/22 design, just a question.....

Everyone needs a 10-22. They are just too simple and too much fun.

I took mine to the range today. There was no instructions on how to adjust the rear sights (shame on Ruger). The post by readysetgo is the instructions for the Ruger context winner rifle. I wasn't able to twist the aperture for elevation adjustment without loosening both windage set screws - so you loose your wind age adjustment when doing elev adjustments. I suggest doing the elevation adjustments first. The sights didn't impress me.... I was thinking they were tech sight when I ordered it. I was planning to use the steel sights when I bought it, but will likely scope it. I bought it with the intention of using it as an Appleseed loaner.
The mag release is very sticky. The mag doesn't drop when the release is pressed.... You have to pull it out. Maybe this will get better with a little wear?
I shot a 4-moa group off the bench at 25 yards after sight adjustments - not impressive, I have other 10-22's that shoot a 2-moa group.
The flash hider doesn't have a thread locker (permatex) and came loose at the range.
              It's ok, but not impressive.

Have you considered adding the auto bolt release ?
I put one on mine for about 10 bucks from Brownells .

Oh what was your high score at the Appleseed clinic you attended ?

I have the auto bolt release on all my other 10-22's so I'll do the same on this one
I think my best Appleseed score was 236 at a kd (full distance - to 400 yds) with my M21 ( M14 sniper rifle). I've shot a few in the 230's with an AR and a couple 22's...... But it took me 3- Appleseeds to get my (first) rifleman.... I'm no prodigy.
