Onions, are good reactive targets they are packed so tight by nature they explode when hit. Then coyotes will come and clean up after you.

With Yucca Valley as his location not the brightest thing to post. He should edit post and look up the fact dry ice bombs are specifically named as a felony. Snyp should read the same law.

Just drop some mentos wrapped in paper in diet soda. Give a shake and the spray from the hole should be reactive enough.

I didn't film that---Saw it on YT and imported it---I think you should lighten up just a bit and get your facts straight before you start flaming---I don't know what living in Yucca Valley would have to do with it---It's a fact that living in Ca., anything that is fun is illegal

That just seems so sticky and messy---Wish I could get what I originally posted to work---Just water and pressurized air---I'm still messing with that---Still want to try low velocity and further away.

Sorry, thought you were out in the woods or something. Maybe just use balloons then. Drop some confetti in then inflate.

Or maybe slice an X in the lead nose. That will make a bigger hole and maybe transfer it's energy faster

Good targets:
- AR500 steel plate: nice 'ping' when you hit it, reusable
- Soda cans: get the cheapest you can find from Walmart. Explode even from a 22LR
- Potatos: get the baking potato 20lb bags from costco for $10, also pop nicely with handgun or 22LR and vaporize from a 223

I just saw your post---I wonder if the cut lead nose would cycle in the mags---Don't have any single bolt actions.

Also wondering if I'm going in the right direction by increasing weight and lessening the velocity and increasing the distance from the object??---I have some Suppressors that are 45gr and 970 fps, (but they are copper plated), which I haven't tried yet---I don't drink the soda, so I'm trying to figure it out without wasting too many bottles

The pallet of eggs from Costco is always fun with hollow point 22's.
Another thing that might work: get the old water bottles, mostly fill them with COLD water (or fill them with water, put in fridge). Open & close bottle to equalize pressure. Let them get nice and warm in the back of the truck and they build up a little pressure.
I'm sure adding a TINY bit of dry ice will be enough to build up pressure but not cause it to EXPLODE.
But as always, thanks to the stupid kids for mucking it up and having "them" make a law against it.

Sidewalk chalk, charcoal, spent brass (for precision practice), ice cubes, those little clementine oranges, all kinds of everyday stuff is fun to shoot at. I save the empty honey bear jars and fill them with powdered unsweetened red kool aid. Those are fun for random yardage targets in the grass.
