I know, it sounds like a lot more my way. More people buy boxes of 500 than cases.

I think you missed the context of post 54. Midway apparently let people backorder 31,000 cases of mini mags. If CCI's entire .22 rimfire production is 800 cases/day (and they make things other than mini mags) and Midway got all of it (hahaha) that's about 40 days worth. Since there are people hoping to get theirs by the end of the year... maybe not.

On the plus side I got two cases in from the CMP recently so I'm set for a bit.

Yep simple math tells you why there is a relentless and ongoing shortage. Much more demand for .22 ammo daily than all the manufacturers combined can produce daily.

CCIs 800 cases of ammo has to be spread around all the online retailers, sporting good and local gun shops in the country.

My remaining backorders done 13-14 months ago have been cancelled:

We're very sorry, but because we have been notified by our vendor that availability within the next 12 months is unlikely

However some earlier backorders did arrive a few months ago. Some panned out and some didn't. Oh well.

It also appears that 22lr is somewhat easier to get overall then let's say a year ago. Hopefully it will ease up more in the near future.

At least the case of CCI MM round shipped and I didn't stop buying just because I had these backorders.
