I have never paid more than around 23.00 for the Federal 500 packs at Walmart. So that is current pricing. Have not bought any for the last month, but have not been looking either..

If you're going to be down around the Santa Clara area this weekend PM me, I'll hook you up with .22 for a new shooter.

If you are lucky, most stores are not between $0.08/round to $0.10/round for 50 round packs (with Tax).

Hey jeffrice I'm in Fair Oaks, PM me, I got some 22 lr I won't gouge you on. I don't normally sell, but sounds like you can use some. Stores don't have any that's for sure. Altho at Walmart, other ammo is in stock, bought a bit of 9mm and .5.56 this morning, no limits on that stuff!

That 5000 rounds is what a lot of people consider their quarter tank of ammo gas. The prices have steadily been increasing from the retailers also. WalMart is probably the anomaly hence the amount of people lined up at 6am for ammo. Most of those folks are flippers from what i've heard.
99% are flippers. Theres no friggin way the same dudes lining up before 6am aren't flippers. Lots of them sell it here. U can tell by the enormous stock pile of the same bulk stuff wally sells. You can tell by their high itraders and low post counts and newly joined dates.

                  Hey bud,
I live really far north in Redding, but if you ever make it up this way I'll give you some for what I paid. 7-10 cents per round.

This ammo mess is affecting the Boy Scouts as well.
I've heard that Camp High Sierra is hurting for 22LR for the Scouts shooting program.

I went to my local Gander Mountain (Green Bay, WI) today to look for a 10/22 takedown and saw 20 (or so) boxes of of Federal Auto Match 325 count for $19.99 (limit one) and 100-200 boxes of 50 count Federal for $2.49 (limit 5). The guy at the counter said "the regulars" were there at the store opening so they could flip them online. I'm just glad they had some left for me at 4pm.

Mr Rabbit nailed it. You might be shocked that CCI standard is 50-60$ a brick right now & no, not from flippers. Wmart has it if you get lucky. G mtn, Cabelas & Bass pro are other places to look online. I have seen some decent prices for small quantities from Calgunners in the last few days. Plenty that have not shot for awhile are kinda pissed right now.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I had a bucket from Midway arrive last month. It was backordered, but for $59 plus shipping it was worth the wait. I have a bucket arriving on Wednesday from Cabelas I paid $67 added a little filler for free shipping. So 2,800 rounds in the last month. It goes quick when you take kids shooting.

In the last week I've purchased ~5000 @ just over 5 cents a round shipped. Have to be on it though.

If you buy locally or at a range expect to pay 10-12 cents a round.

In the past 3 months I have shopped for and delivered:

10000+ @ .675 per to a volunteer group at a range for new shooters.

2500 @ .07 per to a volunteer group that hold events for new shooters.

1700 @ .09 per to an NRA Instructor assisting Boy Scouts.

3000+ @ .07 per to an adult treating nieces and nephews to sessions.

What they all had in common was:

                              1. They asked
                              2. I tried
                              3. I delivered
                              4. They showed up and paid

There's another member here in this forum who does the same as I.

They can even follow my instructions in this thread to find their own - it's not that hard...

I donated (free) more than a few bricks last holiday season.

                                If you want the .22 lr situation to go back to normal two things need to happen;

                                1. Don't buy a single round from flippers(individuals or vendors with double, and triple priced .22 lr). If the prices they can get for the ammo go down to the point its not worth while for flippers to buy and resell, availability will improve a lot.

                                2. Don't buy more than you need. Don't just buy every box of .22 lr that is in stock online or in retail stores because its there. The government is not going to ban .22 lr ammo and it will be available again in the future. People panic buying every little bit of .22 they see keeps the shortage going full steam ahead.
