    Anyone have an AR-7?

I saw that Henry is making these again. Anyone have a "hide in the stock" AR-7 .22?

Yes, I do. Keep it in my bug-out bag.

And anticipating you might have more questions than "Anyone have one":

Mine has shot reliably with both the high and standard velocity ammo I have fed it.
Trigger is pretty bad (gritty, heavy), but usable.
Sights are worse than the trigger and are non-adjustable. So this is a gun you HAVE to wring out at the range and see where POI is vs POA before you would really need to use it. But then the gun is pretty consistently accurate, once hold your POA properly.
    Assembles fast and easy.
Would be nice if there was room in the stock for a second magazine (and maybe 25 rounds of ammo), but there is not.
Light and small, so it is easy to stuff in the BOB.
IIRC it floats when disassembled into the stock and the butt pad is in place.
Available in both black and camo, with the camo more expensive (sometimes substantially so).

      Anyone have an AR-7?

And I have two. Both obtained relatively cheap.

While there nothing but a pep sight they seem to be very accurate.

My second has only seen fifty rounds-it's from the 70s.

I bought one in December. It's the newer orange molding inside the stock. You can keep a mag in the action and still have two in the stock. Fun little gun and packable. It is a decent .22 once you get adjusted to the sights.

Picked up one (latest model) on sale for $180 shipped, from Buds back in March. I DROS'd it at the same time with some other rifles and a pistol, couldn't pass up adding it for the low price. I still haven't shot it yet.

I've got two, a Charter Arms from who-knows-when and a modern Henry (pre orange-colored stock interior).

The CA has some issues. It's picky with ammo, has the occasional FTF/FTE, etc.

The Henry is awesome. Very well made, utterly reliable, and Henry's CS is top-notch. I managed to break the front sight blade (it's made of polymer) and they sent me two replacements for no charge...even though it was clearly my fault ("we'll give you another in case you do it again" LOL).

My only advice: It seems like a good place to hold the rifle is to wrap your support hand around the front of the receiver/magazine well (a la the AR-15), but I've found that if you're not careful and put pressure on the magazine, you'll introduce FTF's, etc.

I would love to have the newest version with the improved buttstock...you can put the receiver in there with a mag in place, as well as 2 additional mags. I've heard that it's also more water resistant when sealed.

And I would love an Armalite version made in Costa Mesa, CA!

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

I always wanted one of them since I first seen them in magazines as a kid. I am an old guy. Just about bought one of the originals at a local show awhile back. But it was just too pricey for my tastes..

I had an Armalite and a couple of Charter Arms. They all pretty much sucked. The new Henry is a whole new ball game. They actually work. I need to get one. I like takedown rifles. I have a Remington pump takedown, a Marlin Papoose and a Ruger 10/22 takedown. The Remington has been going strong since somewhere around 1910 or so.

Resistant is a good description. If I were worried about forging across rivers I would like to put a couple wraps of electrical tape around the cap. But I would be very confident to leave the gun in the rain for awhile if it was packed up.

                            Well I got what I call a AR 7.5

Oh it's a little tack driver and very few issues with regard to FTF or FTE ammo.
