10/22 Solid Walnut Thumbhole Stock Teaser

With Boyds boycotting Calif for thumbhole .22 stocks, I asked Dave Monk if he would be interested in filling the gap for us. He primarily makes duplicates of classic Mauser Sporter stocks, so this was a little different.
Before you ask, he's working on a price list for solid wood and laminates.
I traded my laminate thumbhole to be used as a template for this Claro Walnut stock, tip and grip capped with Macassar Ebony. I should have it by the middle of next week. I have a little bit of finish inletting to do, and a lot of wet sanding with BLO. I'll post the "after" pics here when I get it done.

Very nice! Interested in his price list. Boyd's is missin' the boat via bad legal advice.

Very nice piece of wood. I've never seen the attraction of a thumbhole, but each to his own.

Joe, ergonomics for one, giving better control on the trigger pull. On heavy hitter center fire rifles, it divides the recoil up between the shoulder and palm.

I can't wait for it to get here! Is it Wed yet?

Brown truck fail day, and of course I'm off today to sign for it. That means it'll show up tomorrow when I'm in another part of the state.
