Where is all the .22 LR?

i see just about every damn caliber except 22. Is the government buying this up too so we cant revolt with our 10/22's?

I don't shoot .22 anymore because it is not worth my time to find and I'm not going to pay $40 a brick or more. It's a very popular cartridge and I'm sure it's shot in more quantities than almost any other popular round.

I wish I knew...I bought a 1022 and 2245 so I could shoot more and like you said ammo is either non existent or outrageous in price. I kinda feel that there is collusion among the makers to drive up the price based on demand. Make less and charge more. Not that the manufactures would do that, I mean there not like big oil companies.....oops my tin foil cap fell off, sorry.

OP, where ya been? 22LR has been hard to find since Sandy Hook... even harder to find now when all the other ammo has come back (well, with higher prices.. )

I have a Cabela's backorder (2100 rounds for $99 w/ ammo can) still pending from Jan 2013 (they send me reminders to cancel once in awhile. I'm holding out... LOL)

The shortage is not just CA.... it's all over the country.

Its true I've been living under a rock (on Mars) lately, hiding from the rover. I knew of the ammo hoarding and shortages after Sandy Hook but thought everything leveled out, I see Walmart and gun shops have a good supply of ammo now except 22. This sux

Th .22 lr panic is a bunch of BS. Ammo manufactures are making more ammo than they ever have, there is just simply lots and lots of gun owners who buy all the .22 lr they see. There is a shortage because people think there is a shortage and buy every box they see and create the stupid shortage. Get it?

People can have their theories on the "shortage" but none of them matter. The fact is that they are harder to find at pre-panic prices. The supply is there - check the CG marketplace for instance - but the prices are not great relative to how they were about a year or so ago.

IMO it never really came back since the Great Ammo Drought of '09-'10. I worked 3rd shift back then & would hit the Pooh-Way Wally's every AM. Supply was always hit or miss. We didn't have the hardcore hoarders & flippers then though.

Where is all the .22 LR?
It's in a warehouse in Nevada, right next to the crate marked "Ark of the Covenant"
