Marlin 795 shots @ 200 yards!

OP, I will try it out at 100 or maybe even 200 yards next time I go to an outdoor range. I am sure that my XT will do well. Just need to make the time to go.

I think Angeles has 12" plates.

The 100 yard plates at Angeles are definitely larger than 12". More like 16-18" and not very hard to miss with a .22. I was just out there recently and brought a 5" and a 2.5" target to shoot at 100 yards. Now that's a challenge! Managed to make then dance many times with irons from a CZ-452 UL off the bench.

Marlin .22s have incredible accuracy out of the box that will rival alot of Custom and higher priced Firearms...Good Shooting..

@ 100yds I shoot the little hanging birdie on the steel 22/handgun range to the right of the office, little clay pieces on the berm, and the (what Im guessing is) 2x2 steel "feet" of the target stands.

Gotcha! I was thinking the round hanging targets that are on the rifle benches on that side that are at 100 yards.

It will, I was pleasantly surprised the first time I took my XT-22 out. I bought the XT-22 because of how great my 795 is.

I handed the 795 down to my guard dog (see avatar) He was getting tired of having to use my stuff and wanted one of his own. He still has a hard time loading mags even with the baby Uplula, that whole opposable thumbs thing.

Once I got the new Nikon Prostaff Rimfire sighted in at 50 yards, it was almost too easy to put the 75 yard BDC circle on a 4" Steel and "Ping!"

Walked it in to the 8" @ 190 to 200 yards with a slight uphill and started getting hits pretty quick.

Gotta' love a Marlin rimfire.

So what would you guys estimate the comparison to be between shooting .22LR @ 200 yards versus shooting an actual "Long range" caliber at longer distances?

You can figure out your rimfire zeros here. No need to guess, but a rangefinder is recommended because the change for 22LR is dramatic for even 20 yards. A 200 yard zero for a 40 grain is 18" high at 100 yards.
