    New Winchester 52D

I thought I had satisfied my itch for .22 target rifles for a bit, but like a true addict, I made the mistake of looking at the auctions. It is kinda like an alcoholic wandering into a bar just to see "what's going on". Big mistake.

I fell off the wagon and ended up winning a Winchester 52D.

    Here are the auction pics:

The description advised that it comes with Redfield Olympic sights and has "U.S." electro-penciled on the left side of the receiver, above the serial number, which is in the 109xxx range.

This sounds like it might be a CMP rifle.

      Very cool 52D. I have a 52C and like it a lot.

Wait till you feel the difference in the trigger with that 52B.

Trap, the 52B has a Canjar trigger...supposed to be better than the run of the mill 52B trigger. How much better, I'm not sure.

I did test the trigger on the 52B when it came in to my FFL last week and it felt pretty good. I'm guessing the regular 52B trigger would be noticeably worse?

What kind of Butt Plate does the 52D have?

Trap, I also got a Remington 513T at the same auction. The trigger is pretty bad compared to the Canjar on the 52B. Is there any hope for the 513T trigger?

My Winchester 52D arrived at my FFL and I got a chance to look it over. The rifle looks barely used. Metal and bluing is almost pristine and although the stock has a few dings and dents, it is also in extremely good shape.

                        Thanks beerman.

I'm anxious to shoot this one. I have a couple of M12's and an H&R M5200. The 5200 has a much nicer looking stock than the M12.

The 513T was the poor man's version of the 52, that's probably why I have three of em. No comparison in triggers, but yes, there is hope, just a PITA to work on.

That looks just like my high school target rifle...except mine is still in my safe! Hope the grandkids grow into it soon. Fantastic shooting rifle.
