Love my Marlin 60 [Bipod Arrived]

Took my son out to the range with the marlin, I frickin love this rifle.

I was having problems with plated hollow points not feeding, but I steel wooded the chamber and took a small jeweler file to the dimple a couple dry fires caused on the breech face, sharpened the extractor and viola , perfect feeding and extraction over 700 rds fired today. One dud. And once I sighted in my cheap variable power tasco scope, it was producing one ragged hole at 25yds. Boss.

I love mine too! Great rifle, out of the box accurate and trouble free for me.

Heres my 17.00 Model 60.. Very nice little Rifles..They are amazingly accurate right out of the box. No need to upgrade them with 500.00 worth of aftermarket parts like some other models, that I will not mention by name...

Mine is somewhat a harder to find model. It was made in the short period of the late 80s when they had the 18 round magazines yet, the last shot bolt hold open and still had the 22 inch barrel.

love mine as well with a cheap tasco scope from walmart. literally shooting groups the size of a nickle when I take my time.

HAHA. A lot of 10/22 owners could have bought a matching pistol for the money they "invested" in their rifle.

i love my model 60 as well. i just put my tasco 3-9 x 40 back on after its been off for 5 or 6 years. i had a red dot on it for a while and that was fun, but i think scoped if my favorite with the 60.

Mine does have a aftermarket stock, as it did not come with one for the 10.00 I paid for it..It is a Boyds and they are really nice stocks. Some claim they are heavy, but I like the added weight..Makes it feel more like a "real" rifle..

All I did to mine is add a rail and replace bolt handle to a much bigger one.
Be careful when cleaning the rifle, recoil spring bends and kinks easily. I already went and replaced the recoil spring.

The rail came in way to small , I had to cut the inside to fit.
Same with the bolt handle cut to fit.

What's not to love? These are great rifles that have been around for a long time and there is a reason for that.

                        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

pete, where did you get that charging handle? I agree they could have made those larger from the Factory.

                          OP, where is your pic?....Thanks

This was my first Model 60 I had and gave it to my dad for when we went rabbit hunting. Great thing about this model is no magazine to deal with that creates all the jamming issues

Cool. It's just a classic rifle and everyone should own one.

I need to replace the one I sold a long time ago.
