I've conversed on and off with a hunter/guide (also a consultant for Norma ammo) in Zimbabwe who says that .22 lr ammo can become unreliable if stored with the bullet up while exposed to high heat. He says that in time, excess lube on the heeled bullet can run down inside the case and foul the priming compound.
