I have a Mosquito close to 10K rounds through it.

My favorite handgun for the range.

HV Ammo is a must for it to function correctly.

        I shoot the following types

        CCI Mini Mag
        Remington Golden Bullets
        Remington ThunderTurds (sorry Thunderbolts)
        Fiocchi HV
        Federal HV

The one HV ammo it does not seem to like are the Win M22.

I think mrrabitt is pretty much on the mark with his comments.

well, you could always buy a P226 and a .22 conversion kit. You will only be out about $1200.

Love mine. Ate up 4000+ golden bullets already. Wife loves it too.

Admittedly, it didn't like the federal bulk tho.

If you're getting it, expect to just buy bullets that is for sure will work for it so you won't be bumming at the range.

Mrrabbit is pretty much sums everything you need to know about the mosquito

You can see my opinion on them there. And yes I do have first hand experience with them while I do not own one. I have used my friends on many outings and taken it apart. Despite what people say about the 2 recoil springs fixing issues they are still a POS using POS design and POS materials. And even the fans of them have agreed with me when I say that they have the worst trigger I have ever felt.

To sum it up, even if you get lucky and your Mosquito does not jam, you still have to deal with very bad trigger and sights.

Just buy Ruger or Browning and call it a day.

Well, I have both the Ruger SR22 and the Sig Mosquito. I like both of them. I shoot CCI in both, also.
Don't listen to everything you hear. Go shoot it yourself. I think both guns are fun! I've had no problems with either gun, too! The Mosquito was DESIGNED to shoot CCI...I shoot the mini mags...and I haven't had any issues...and mine is a newer one...not an older one.

Assuming you have one, meet me next time I go to Chabot or Metcalf. Bring yours absent any attempts to do your own repairs (chamber filing, etc...) and watch me make it work.

                          But there's one catch:

If I make it work, you sell it to me for 100.00 even.

True story- I bought one today from a friend's dad. Fairly new Mosquito for $300 and he threw in about $80 in 22 ammo. (CCI and Remington) I am confident it will work with the right lube and ammo. Looking forward to shooting my new Mosquito.

Mine work flawlessly with the cci blazer (black box). I polished the feed ramp. It's a jam-o-matic with federal. Mostly FTF. I use federal when my kids shoot it to give them practice in clearing jams. The FTF rounds fed to the 10/22. So no waste of ammo.
Damn democrats are turning me into a republican.

I have a mosquito and it never jams. I broke it in with about 1000 rounds of minimag then started firing whatever when minimag became impossible to get. It seems to reliably shoot any sort of cheap bulk stuff now.

I hate the double action tirgger pull. It is the worst trigger of any firearm I own by far! My 12 year old daughter has to use both index fingers to pull double action and she knows her way around guns pretty good.

There was a guy next to me at the range and his Mosquito seemed to jam every third round. He was shooting cheap ammo on a new gun.

My opinion is break it in good with minimags and when it's nice and smooth, then experiment with other types of ammo.
