Trying to Buy Bulk Boxes at Walmart

So I woke up early and checked ammo-can.net and sure enough Walmart has Winchester bulk boxes in. I get to the store at 7:10 (they open at 7) and think I'll definitely be able to get my limit of 3.

Nope. I was wrong. According to the manager guys start lining up around 6, and there were 10 guys in line before the store opened.

I'm tired of this stupid shortage, and refuse to pay the price gougers 1 damn cent, so I'm definitely low on 22lr. Man I hope this shortage ends soon.

I think the Walmart employee here in San Clemente is involved in some kind of BS. Stashing stuff for people

Where? By the time they rape you on shipping, the good deals aren't so good anymore. I check gunbot and slickguns multiple times a day and haven't seen anything in weeks that resembles prices even close to what they used to be.

I just bought some 22lr from walmart few days ago. 8boxes left, would only let me have 3, tried to explain to them, I can buy 3 boxes of 250 45acp, but still only 3 boxes of 50rds of 22. No dice, called my gf from the makeup section and got 6 boxes.

My last trip they sold me 3 100 round boxes of .357 but would only sell me 1 250 round box of .45.

Price per round delivered is low at many places online.

CABELAS has "3holiday" code for $5 shipping right now and if you have a Cabela's Card you can get free shipping with "3turkey" code at checkout. In the absence of free shipping I have been getting $5 shipping all year with "clubfive" code. Getting a Card is easy and you get a $15 to $25 credit to spend for signing up... then you accrue bonus points to spend as well. Points equal free ammo. You combine free shipping and $15 or $30 worth of Card points saved up from using the Cabela's card for all major purchases everywhere you shop, and it is some good savings.

Gander's $9 flat fee over $50 is not bad either. Gander limits are decent - usually ten bulk packs per order, even if the bulk pack is a 1400 round bucket. It is not unheard of for people to get 3750 rounds of CCI, or 14000 rounds of Golden Bullets delivered for $9 flat fee. .05-.07 per round delivered. 3 box limits at Walmart can't get this level of stocked up without lots of fuel and time.

Even Midway USA had free shipping codes recently and if you grab a 2100 round federal bulk can or four it is an unbeatable deal even at Walmart.

Sportsman's Guide has free shipping codes or $15 off your order codes more often than not... prices are decent but you will pay tax here. The only .22 LR I remember scoring here was SK MAGAZINE cans, but they have it from time to time and lots of other stuff... 7.62x54R cans cheapest I have seen delivered, .308, shotgun shells, defensive loads like Golden Sabers, etc...

ammo-can.net is interesting, thanks for posting. I like Federal Lightnings... I haven't seen them for years. I will pick some up at a local Walmart if they actually are on the shelves.

Everyone knows when the shipments arrive by now, in socal, there is no chance at all if you don't get there an hour or two early. 10 boxes per delivery of bulk is what I've noticed, so that's only the first 3 people.

I always end with minimags (20 per case) because I'm 5th or more in line, but no complaints about getting 3 boxes of minimags at all.

Go to slickguns and sign up to be notified when 22 ammo hits x per round.

Just give it time. It will be back and the prices will normalize providing nothing else happens.
It would help if people would stop buying from the low life's in Walmart playing the flipper game but it is what it is.

so how does this work , Walmart manager unlocks the doors and then a mad dash to the ammo counter?

With people tripping each other and shoving them into the basket section. I just grab a hammer as I pass through the tools section and walk into the ammo section straight to the front of the line and eyeball everyone, no one dare says a word.
