    Marlin Papoose?

Similar to the Ruger take down.

Do you have one? Do you like it?

Anyone know where to get one?

I have one and love it. It's my trunk gun for plinking. It's extremely light, accurate, and simple to use. I threw some Tech-Sights and a sling on it. I'd recommend it to anyone that can find one. Might be best to try Gunbroker, they seem to be pretty easy to find for a good price.

It's lighter then a Ruger takedown. You need a spanner wrench to tighten the nut to the receiver. I take mine camping.

Spanner wrench is redundant. Where are you from? Fee Fi Fo Fum....

You mean that the Ruger is similar to the Papoose not the other way around.
The Papoose has been around for a couple decades now.

They are just a takedown version of the Marlin 795 (70).
          Which are great rifles.
That being said its sort of hard to get your hands on one..

I got one about 15 years ago. I traded a knife for it. Great gun. I used it for road trips to the mountains or desert until I got my 10/22 takedown. I always wanted the stainless one but couldn't find one for sale. Now I don't need it.

I'll trade you a knife or something else for it
But seriously PM me if you are interested in letting go of it.
I'm in Socal, no idea where you are.

The stainless flavor has been in my BOB for a few years... a little tack-driver, and never a hick-up. I had a scope mount milled and the barrel drilled and tapped to mount a Burris 2.5 Scout Scope on the barrel. This way, the scope stays zeroed.

Pretty good 22. Operationally, it needs attention to proper tightening of the barrel nut for consistent aim. I have never shot the Ruger but I think it has locator pins for the barrel instead of relying on a flat. Might provide more postive barrel orientation.

I have one that was handed down from my Dad. Outshoots my friends 10/22 on any given day.

                              Burris Scope

I chose the Burris Scout scope due to the respectable glass quality with an 8 1/2" to 14" eye relief and only 7oz weight. I've been really pleased with it
