Henry is out of jail!

Just picked up my new Henry .22 carbine with the large loop lever. What a sweet feeling little gun! Action as smooth as silk out of the box. Haven't fired it yet, but hope to in the next few days. I know my Grandkids will love it...afterall that IS who I bought it for...right?

One question, though. I noticed the forestock has a very slight wiggle to it (fore/aft). I tried to tighten the retaining strap screw but that did nothing. Any advice?

Yes, call henry and ask them about it. Your carbine should come with contact information.

I bought some quiets 22lr ammo. I could not cycle this in my 597 but works perfect in the Henry. Good purchase, made in America.

My Henry Frontier did the same thing. A littlle paper shim under the forestock will fix that. It really has no effect on the rifle though.

Call Henry. Most accurate 22 I have, and its just plain cool.

1: I have seen a couple threads on rimfire cental forum about this. And they seem to think it is no problem and easy and simple to fix with the paper trick mentioned above.

2: I have a fairly new Henry .22 myself and was not happy to see that it is just possible that one bill before the legislature might declare these guns 'assault rifles' because the non removable magazine holds more than 10 rounds. It is unlikely for the bill to wind up finally so aggressive as that I would guess, but who knows these days? Will Henry have to come out with a new California Model someday ?

I'm hoping the Bart issue keeps the Gov tied up such that the budget gets impacted and he sees that additional irrational laws will only hurt this state.
I really think the Dems are going to 'examine' what they have proposed anew in light of the 2014 elections, which are not likely to workout as they expected. IMHO.

Nice! I just shoot my Henry for the 1st time last weekend! Pretty sweet ! I replaced the stock sights w/ some hiviz sights - they are fantastic!

Not quite at the engineer level but if you use a sight such as flickr.com (as I do) you upload your picture to that sight. Copy the link and then paste it into your post. Easy Peezy.

SWEET! my henry is still in jail and I can't pick it up until 08/14. It's amazing how long this 10 days feels. I know it's not that long, but it feels like a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!

Picked up a Gloden Boy 22lr a week ago - very fun to shoot, and such a smooth action.
