    Ruger 10/22

Shot a 10/22 for the second time today at the range. Love the rifle, but I'm tall. The stock is a bit short, and I'd like to have better sights (open).

Are these easy fixes if I buy a 10/22?

I'd probably get takedown or sporter models.

    Thx.

I plan on swapping to a houge stock for mine. The stock plastic one is a little short for me but its perfect for my son so I may leave it till I buy a second one.

As for sights, these are popular

      Ive been looking at these.

I have a takedown. I think iron sight options for those are very limited right now specially since both sights are on the front barrel side when you take it apart.
My 8 year old mainly uses it and he says it's his rifle. Right now he's earned the use of a trs25 red dot after shooting patiently with just the irons. It's more convenient and fun and keeps him interested.
Oh after awhile the novelty of talking it down becomes old so it mostly stays in one piece, but it's always nice to have the option of breaking it in half you you wanted.

Do I need to buy a whole new stock? Or just extended for the butt of the stock?

think of the 10/22 as the AR-15 of the rimfire world. If there is a mod you can think of, someone has already, is making, and selling it.

I don't know anything about the AR-15 except that Piers Morgan doesn't like them!

So I guess my question is if I like the 10/22 action, I should get one? And then modify it to make it perfect for my use?

                Yes, absolutely.

                Everyone should own a 10/22, AR-15, 870, and a 1911.
Possibly, add a Glock and an AK and you got 50% of the weapons owned in this country.

The aftermarket options for the Ruger 10/22 are highly abundant.

And then modify it to make it perfect for my use? Google: "ruger 10/22 custom parts" as one example. Make it yours.

I really have my sights set on a 22lr Goldenboy as my first gun purchase.

But enjoyed the 10/22. Might be my 2nd purchase.

Not for now my friend...unless I/you can find me thumbhole stock that will fit that specific barrel

The stocks on them are real nice

Get your evil assault weapons grade 10/22 ASAP if you live in California.
As we get closer to the end of the year they will get hard to find again and pricey.
                              Enjoy
