    Cost effective scope for 10/22?

I am looking for a scope for my 10/22. I need something cost effective, i.e. under $100 with rings.

This is the kids' plinking/training rifle, and I don't want to spend a ton.

What are the more cost effective options available?

    TIA

anything from big 5 should do.

        I've got a bushnell 4x 32mm from a fellow Calgunner. works awesome!

          Scope for 10/22

BSA is not the best but will be good enough for plinking.

It's worth spending a bit more on a Weaver Classic Rimfire scope. The optics and construction are far superior to any sub-$100 scope.

But if you must have a sub-$100 scope then look at a Simmons 22 Mag scope, you can find a 3-9x for around $60.

Simmons and BSA are definitely under that price range, probably many options under $50.

I have these after asking the same question here a couple of months ago. They work really well.

Simmons .22 Mag Truplex Reticle Adjustable Objective 3-9x32mm ~$64.00
Leupold Rifleman Detachable Medium Rings Matte 55860 ~$17.00
                Weaver Multi-Slot Base System - 430T for Ruger 10/22 ~$8.00

                Total Cost: ~$89.00

Simmons scope without the AO is ~$42.00

is the stock rail section that came with my 10/22 too short for a scope?

Spend just a little more and you can get a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire. The fixed 4X retails for about $120 and the 3X-9X for about $150. You can usually find them closer to the $100 range when on sale. It's a great scope for the money, plus you get a lifetime warranty

It's not too short. Its just not the best of quality and will not hold the scope as well as a weaver/picatinny type rail. Look at it as cheap insurance. You can find a cheap weaver base at Walmart or online for under $10

I recently picked a couple for different situations:

I looked into the used ones to save a little more $$ (Amazon has a good return policy in my experience)

Both a QD Scope and QD Red Dot for a little over $100. Once I get my Red Dot I'll take em to the range and let you know how it goes. I picked the QD mounts because I have a Ruger 10/22 TD.

Best bang for the $$$ given your budget of $100. Its not a Leupold but better than BSA/TruGlo/UTG and just about any other Chinese made scope I can think of. Get the one with the AO, you won't be sorry.
