    400 round brick?

So I bought a brick of Federal American Eagle today and didn't pay to much attention to it but they are now only 400 rounds.

    When did that happen?
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I did the same thing last year... Sneaky bastards. On the bright side, it's much better quality ammo than the Federal blue box stuff IMO.

Same game the packaged food industry uses, keep the price close to the same, but reduce the weight. Remember when a pound of coffee was a pound of coffee, not 14 then 12 ounces?

The last time I bought some(last year) they had both 500 & 400 packs haha. Have to be careful there. I think Palmetto sold both too. Great ammo, though.

I used to buy the 40 round boxes and 400 round brick of American Eagle 10+ years ago when the Federal bulk was sold out - it has been around forever. It isn't new like those 333 round and 325 round bulk packs. Of course it was like $8 back then.

Go to the store and buy a 1/2-gallon of ice-cream and report back how much you got.

Seriously, B&J or Hagen Daaz pints are now $5 each, so if I buy one for the wife and I (both for me really), that's $10. Have to wait for sale days.

Happily sitting on a lot of CCI minimags right now, but will be interesting when I run out and will have to start scrounging for 22lr. Hoping stock will be back in full by then. Unbelievable.

I think the red/black boxes of federal American eagle 40gr lead round nose have always been 400 round bricks. I remember seeing the price and though it was a good deal for a brick to only see that it was only 400 rounds instead of 500 upon closer inspection.

Yeah they have been 40/box 400/brick as far back as I can recall.

The Federal AE has been packed in 40 round boxes for years.

I must be a bit older than you. I'm still working on old stock when it comes to this ammo.

Here is my last brick of AE .22. From 7/89 and my newest one from last week.
