It may not be EXACTLY like a converted AR, but it's close enough, for me
I totally agree. My short list of 22 rifles this year was a MP 15-22, GSG MP5, or Sig522. I went with the SIG522, but I'd be happy with either the 15-22 or Sig. Friends who own the 15-22 love them. I still want one, hahah. I just want one or two of everything.

After looking over the CMMG upper I am totally impressed - it is a very high quality upper. Being .22 LR and blowback it is not exactly like a 5.56 AR - no .22 LR is, and it is definitely lighter and differently configured than my 20" HBAR A2 with AK-74 brake. I like the differences. Trigger time carries over (enough to be worth it) no matter what caliber or configuration.

When you swap back and forth do you need to do anything with the buffer spring?

I haven't shot it yet, but it fits right in the lower pretty snug against the rifle buffer. I just got the upper in the mail during the week after my range trip... had other obligations this weekend. Hopefully I am going out next weekend again.

If there are any reliability issues there is a cheap tensioner plug you can add between the rear of the upper and the buffer spring that pushes the spring in. I'll shoot it without it first. Also there is a hammer option for certain lowers. I think I will order it when I order my New Frontier poly lower. The upgrades if needed cost about $5-$8 each.

I got my rear sight and new riser today, so it is ready for the first range trip this weekend. Co-Witness looks perfect. I don't think my other sights will fit on this riser so I guess this TRS-25 is staying on the CMMG and I will have to get another one for my MarkII 678G.

          I also added CLP

Anyone else that ordered a cmmg upper lately please check your barrel nut! Mine was barely finger tight. It spun off when I was changing my hand gaurd.

Mine was tight. Which hand guards did you swap to?
