22LR ammunition?

What brand of 22lr is your favorite to shoot? Which is your least favorite? I personally love CCI velociters! My 10/22 eats them like crazy. My least favorite would be blazer bulk pack. Jams up and gunks up my rifle like no other.

Remington "Golden Bullets" seem to be the hate it or love it brand.I hate them.

Wolf match target in my S&W 41 make me look like a better shooter than I am.

Choosing .22LR ammo, to me, depends largely on what pistol/rifle you are shooting and what you are trying to accomplish (i.e. plinking, target, competition, etc)

Exactly. Just plinking? Might as well use whatever cycles reliably. Maybe your stuff only works well with minimags, maybe it works with whatever to can cram into the magazine.

Accuracy? Depends on what your rifle does best with. That could mean wolf, it could mean tenex.

Hunting? Different ballgame depending on the distance and target.

CCI mini mags, federal automatch, and liking that Winchester M22 now.

I seem to have the worst luck with Winchester bulk boxes. The rim is just ever so slightly different it wouldn't even feed in my Winchester 72 (bolt action tube fed rifle). The rim is just a hair thicker and rounded differently.

The hollow point top isn't rounded enough to feed in my colt woodsman either. Too square tipped and gets hung up on the feed ramp. Also it feels underpowered, when shooting against the federal and CCI it just feels weaker.

Federal and CCI bulk are my favorite. The remingtons are the dirtiest but they feed and shoot well in everything i've tried.

CCI Blazer 525 Value Packs are my favorite by far.

I have a bolt gun so I prefer CCI SV and Eley Target.

Well, I lucky to hit the target paper, so, cheaper is good. Rem thunderbolt and golden go through the semi-auto fine and the revolver takes pretty much anything. I really enjoy cleaning them too so dirty isn't that bad.

Federal bulk or federal automatch always work well for me. My favorite hands down would have to be cci mini mags though.

I am blessed insofar as my Ruger Mark IIIs, SR22ps, and 10/22s seem willing to shoot anything (other than subsonic ammo) with 100% reliability. Before the shortages I almost always shot only Federal Blue Box 525 or CCI.

Having said that, the present ammo scarcity has forced me to be far less picky about what I shoot. I used to never, ever buy lead tipped ammo. That little notion has gone right out the door. Since the shortage one of my favorite bread-and-butter .22LR rounds has been Centurion. This stuff is routinely available at not too bad prices. It is lead-tipped, and I would never have considered it before. But I have discovered that there is nothing wrong with lead ammo as long as you clean your guns right after shooting. The Centurion is reasonably clean, and otherwise shoots about exactly like Federal Blue Box -- I have never once had a bad Centurion round, and all my weapons' zeros are the same with Centurion as they are with Federal.

My Henry rifles (lever action/tube fed) and .22 revolvers all shoot .22 longs and shorts fine too -- another thing that I would never have bothered with before the shortages. But these rounds are sometimes all that is available and they are actually kind of fun. Again, just clean your weapons to prevent rings in the revolver cylinders and you will have no problems.

Anyway, this is how I have gotten through the Democrats' efforts to starve us of weapons and ammunition.
