Should have added KIDD on the poll.
I'm looking for a drop-in, dislike the polymer trigger guard, and I can turn it back to a light weight plinker if my daughter want to shoot again.

just realized every component, barrel , stock, trigger and optic I'm looking at cost as much as the 10/22...

I have the VQ Target Hammer and Sear... it has been a great super light trigger. From what I recall, you need both these parts to get the trigger to lighten up with Volquartsen parts, and this adds up to $80 depending on where you get the two parts.

If the Kidd stuff is as good as you guys say and as good as the reviews on their site, I see a Kidd Trigger in my future. $105 would be a steal for the "trigger job" kit if I had a plastic trigger group.

Sounds like for a new gun, that kit is the best bargain.

I picked up 10/22 used for $179 plus tax and dros at my LGS. If you had told me that I would be spending more than that on a trigger for it a few months down the road I would have called you crazy. Now that I have the Kidd trigger assembly, I have to force myself not to order more Kidd stuff. It is the best trigger I have ever felt on any gun. The workmanship is extraordinary. All this for just a couple hundred bucks? You gotta be kidding me!

I just have the office deposit my paycheck directly into KIDD's bank account, it's much easier that way.

I have the volq. but it came from the factory with a weak trigger return spring. I replaced it with a wolf and I'm happy now.

Kidd is probably the best overall. I had CPC do my steel trigger, It's nice.

My personal experience is with the Timney which I really like. I don't like a super-light trigger. 2-3 lbs is great as long as there is no creep and it breaks clean.

I have heard that Kidd is the best and Jard sucks. Don't have firsthand experience with either but was told that by people I respect.

Without a single doubt, Kidd. The absolute best.

I bought a VQ TG2000 used/like new for $160 and it is really, really nice. Crisp clean break 1 lb 11oz. I love it. I recently shot a 10/22 with a KIDD 2 stage trigger and was the nicest trigger I've ever felt on a rimfire rifle hands down. Lots of great suggestions here and many ways to go. I would set a max amount you want to spend and check for sales and nice used trigger groups. A budget buy would have me installing a VQ hammer and sear or the basic KIDD trigger job.
