WOW! Every 22 is indeed different...range report

i've always shot winchester and federal bulk packs in all my rifles. my 10/22 and marlin 60 eat pretty much anything, and so does my ruger mark II that my dad has had forever.

when i picked up my issc m22 it was the typical picky semi auto and only liked the cci stuff. after about 500 rounds of cci i broke it in enough that it would tolerate the winchester bulk, maybe one ftf or fte every 3 or 4 mags. not too bad, i knew what i was getting in to.

with all the ammo crunch my 22 brand variety become very wide. so on my last trip i decided to bring a little bit of everything. here's my reports...

marlin 60 and 10/22 did their thing and ate everything but the aguilla(SP?)-winchester bulk, federal bulk, cci, sk can stuff, eley, remington GB, and american eagle. the 10/22 did ok on the aguilla btw

i didn't bother even testing the heritage or the marlin 925 because they'll shoot anything (bolt and revolver)

my issc m22 did its thing as well. ran flawless on cci stingers, velociters, mini mags, and standards. it ran great through the winchester. it had 1 ftf on the federal in 20 rounds. it had 5 fte on the sk in 10 rounds. i didn't bother with the aguilla because from previous experience i knew it didn't work.

the real shocker to me was that the m22 ran flawless on the remington gb i was absolutely stunned. with as much hate as the GB's catch, my m22 ate it up. i was so surprised that i ran about 150 rounds through it. both taking my time to aim and just blowing through the mag as fast as i could. i've been finding a lot of the 525 gb's and buying them for the rifles, now i'll keep buying them for the m22.

    happy guy

Lucky for you that your 10/22 likes a wide variety of ammo. So far my 10/22 tells me that it likes CCI and they are hard to get a hold of right now. Perhaps it needs to be broken in some more.

i don't think i've ever seen a 10/22 with a ammo preference. mine is only about 4000 rounds old and i think i started it off on federal bulk stuff. the only time its seen cci is when i wanted to see how much more accurate it was.

haha of all things it likes those **** golden BBs!!!! Go figure. I wouldn't take those things for free.

Just talking about shooting though is making me feel guilty for not cleaning my rifles. I'm wayyyyyy behind!!!

ive moved away from bulk ammo months ago and never looked back. theres a reason why the bulk stuff is so cheap. but if it cycles your pistol/rifle and you are content with the accuracy, more power to you.

My four 22's ( 3 pistols / 1 rifle ) love the golden bullets, a lot better than the Winchester hp bulk.

paperchasin-the only non bulk i use is cci. only time the cci sees anything other than the pistols is when whoever i'm shooting with wants to play around with accuracy and some money. otherwise i'm just a plinker.

and btw to whoever has the sk canned bulk, that stuff is NASTY. if you're primarily a walmart carried bulk ammo shooter(like me), make sure you have a towel to wipe your hands on. i knew that it came with a wax coating due to the lead projectile, but wow was it coated. after about 50 rounds of it my only thought was "only 950 more rounds of this stuff."

My sig mosquito, which is supposed to be one of the most picky 22 semiautos, loves the Golden Bullets. They also work well in my CMMG AR-15/22, and luckily they're not too hard to come by online these days.

Why all the GB hate? My 10/22 loves it. My mp15-22 loves it. Bearcat does too but revolvers don't count Mk1 loves them. I never have problems or ftf's or whatever. Maybe it's old batches. Of maybe I'm lucky.

In fact the most accurate 22's I've shot out of the 10/22 are yellowjackets.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

There is no hate. If your pistol cycles GB and you are happy with the accuracy, than that's good for you. I've had no luck with the stuff, so I avoid GB altogether. Most 10/22s will cycle just about anything. The real question is how accurate they are and how many fliers you get with them. But if you're simply plinking for fun, those things may not be important. I would not use them to shoot competitions tho that is for sure.

i just tried the Remington GB in my M-22; man that was a sweet shoot. I found GB's worked in my Rugers but now in the ISSC is a surprise as the manufacturer recommended blazer and cci.

You just never can tell. My .22 AR initially choked on everything except Remington Subsonic. After putting a couple of hundred rounds through it I retested and most ammo worked and other choices were more accurate. CCI Standard Velocity seems to be the winner this week.

I always hated the OLD GB's and anything Winchester - but we may have to admit that times change and maybe those companies learned and listened to people saying their garbage sucked. Now that I am lucky enough to have some picky-*** guns like the wonderful Walther P-22 which works just well enough now for me not to chuck it for a Ruger SR22... I hunt for CCI Mini-mags and GB's

But luckily i have my 10/22, MKII, and Sig 522 to eat EVERYTHING leftover.

My two SR22p Rugers will feed and shoot anything.

I continue to search for the ammo that my SR22 doesn't like, no luck yet.
