    Hogue Overmold on a 10/22

I just got my Hogue Overmold stock in the mail today. I originally was going to get a Nordic Components AR kit for the 10/22 but then I decided I'd rather keep it simple. I already have 2 other tactical rifles. I'm really happy with it, don't think I am going to do anything else to it, other than get it dirty...Before and after pics...

Looks good. does it allow you to float the barrel? Can you later upgrade to a bull barrel?

I have one on one of my 10/22's. I like the feel much better than the plastic stock. You no longer use the barrel band with this stock. They make a stock for the standard barrel 10/22, and another stock for the ones with the bull barrel.

Hogue makes a OM stock specifically for the Bull Barrel .920". The standard OM stock will not work unless you want to try and ream it out for the larger diameter barrel.

How much was the bull barrel, and what kind, if you don't mind me asking?

I have two houge stocks on my 10/22s they are are nice choice. Simple and rugged, ny only gripe is it seems everything sticks to it. Other then that they are great and not outrageously priced. Looks good OP.

I have a hogue overmolded on mine. Ghillie green and sporter barrel. I love it. Thing I like best is that it has the right drop for use with tech sights as I don't use a scope. When I looked into 10/22 stocks almost all aftermarket stocks are for scoped use. But the hogue works great with iron. I think the stock really helps with accuracy since you lose the barrel band.

                        Standard size stock/drop-in fit?

Did the LOP change? Could one or all if you submit your LOP? I need a longer LOP than the standard Ruger synthetic stock I have now. My rifle is a tapered barrel carbine I put together using parts from here and there. I like the idea of being able to remove the scope to use the sights as well.
I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Drop in: yes. I have the original stock barrel. Not the heavy barrel.

I believe it's a bit longer LOP. More comfortable for sure.

The scope is a cheap BSA TWS 4x scope but it's durable and has held its zero very well. I like it because it is small and doesn't get in the way. I didn't use the rings it came with, I got some medium Weaver rings. The LOP feels a lot better. It feels like a regular adult sized rifle now. I swear the original stock is designed for kids...
