    M&P 22 magazine block

I ordered a M&P 22 10-round magazine. My receipt and the bag it came in shows that it's a 10-round magazine, but it's actually a 12 round magazine.

I've called S&W and they say that they do not have the magazine block as they don't make the magazine themselves.

Is there any comparable product or way for me to turn it into a 10 round magazine? Extra magazines are difficult to come by!

Why do you want to limit it? You came by that magazine of legal means...

If you don't know you got that magazine legally, why the hell are you posting on a public forum?

Keep it at 12 rounds, and count your blessings.

I assume you are talking about the M&P 22 pistol, not the carbine. Correct, they are made by Walther, the company that actually makes the pistol. The 10 round and 12 round magazines are exactly the same. Same housing, floorplate, spring and follower. The only difference is the silver plug limiter that press fits onto the spring floorplate. Every 10 round magazine can be easily (but not legally in CA) converted to 12 rounds by simply removing that limiter.

So your magazine is missing this silver plug? If so, it's their fault. Send it back and have them ship you the correct SKU magazine since I don't think you can buy the limiter separately anywhere.

Yeah, I'm missing the silver plug. I was hoping not to have to send it back since these magazines are exceedingly rare and they don't have any in stock any more. It took me near six months to find this one.

I was hoping that Walther made a similar/identical part that I could use instead.

I'm sure you could find something to fit in place of that little plug that's missing.

You can make one yourself out of a Bic Clic Stic pen. The pen body is almost exactly the same circumference as the sliver plug. Cut the pen body to size and then use the pen's top part, the part with the button, to fashion out the section where the spring will fit into. Glue the two pieces together to make it permanent.

if you want to keep the same mag and have it all legal use the tacticool blocker and your fine - if not just load ten and know you got lucky!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot.

Even though I technically got the magazine legally, I don't look forward to having to convince a cop or a judge that I wasn't the one who took the 30 seconds it takes to remove the mag block.

                      M&P22 magazine limiters

FYI, I heard a rumor that a .223 case cut down to 3/4" (from the top) works great. The spring fits over the neck of the case and the shortened body of the case fits over the spring guide on the floorplate retainer without interfering with function.

                        M & P 22 Magazine Block

Could not find a 10 round magazine at a reasonable price. I just modified a 12 round magazine to a 10 round. I tried to find the factory block but..... I measured different things and found that a Bic White Round Stick is the perfect diameter to fit the bottom plate and all that is needed is to measure the length that is needed. Then slightly melt and mold the top so the spring slides over it. You can make a 12 round into almost anything less. Hope this helps.
