525 packs of Federal are $21 at Wally's, which disproves your theory of corporations trying to "screw us". All their prices reflect their standard mark up. 440 rounds of .556 in ammo can were $175, though they only had two of these.

Even with a three box limit, by the time my turn came, I was limited to 225 packs of Remington golden bullets and I got the last three.

All in all, prices are coming down and ammo supplies are going up.
Wally secures pricing protection you can bet. How many CCI were there? Didn't think so....

At two different Big 5's, the managers told me there is a crowd of carpetbaggers waiting at the door on ammo delivery days. Actual shooters that come in randomly looking for ammo are patted on the head and sent on their way empty handed.
Yes, but you can't tell me a manufacturer triples production and we have a handful of people absorbing that at Big 5 or Wally. I've been in those lines, it's the only way to get it unless you go to a market like calguns or the shows.

I've always had 1,000 rds of .22lr handy, I've had to visit and visit the last 6 months to get it to 2,500 with no .22 leaving my barrels.

I don't care about other rounds as I hand load those.

Phillips wholesale in covina has had a standing order for cci mini mags etc for over 6 months...nada, zilch

        Speaks volumes about CCI.

When this ends if it ever does, I won't buy their products.

YOu want to hear rip-offery? My friend bought two 50 packs of .22 lr (Eley) and was charged $30. That's $30/100. He said "Well, it's match ammo". We were going to an Appleseed clinic. I just handed him a 550 pack of Federal and told him to save his fancy expensive .22lr for shooting golden birds or zombies or something. At the shoot, he bought 500 Rem golden bullets for $30 off some guy there.
His best deal was still the 550 pack I gave him for free.

I doubt it. These guys are in biz to make money - they only make money when they pump out product. And right now they're most likely cranking it out as fast as they can.

From what I hear the prices they charge haven't gone up much, if at all.

Phillips Wholesale probably doesn't buy direct from CCI - they buy from a distributer. If there's a problem, odds are the distributer in in the middle of it.

We're seeing more ammo avail, but still at inflated prices. Barring any major event those prices will start to drop, probably soon.

Your story inspired me to check out big 5 in Huntington Beach on my way home.
I asked if they had any .22 ammo.
The guy behind the counter told me to come back Thursday morning two hours before they open and wait in line then maybe they would have some to sell me.

I went to Walmart in HB and got 3 boxes of mini mags.
