Worth it! Ruger 10/22s are amazing rifles, have one with over 2,000 rounds mix of cci mini mags and bulk packs not cleaned it once and have not had any failures besides dud ammunition.

Super Accurate - throw tech sights on them and you're good to go!

Just picked mine up last night at Sportsman's Warehouse for $329. Very cool gun can't wait to shoot it!

Depends on what you mean by accurate? Shooting a 5 shot bughole at 50yds won't happen without a lot of work and $$$. Out of the box it won't be as accurate as just about any bolt action .22lr. 1" groups at 50yds is possible out of the box. Not knocking the rifle, just reality for that gun.

They're decent but out of the box accuracy is pretty average. Stock sights suck. The takedown mechanism is nifty and seems to maintain zero just fine, even with (receiver mounted) tech sights.

just shot my buddy's takedown yesterday...i liked it and if i didn't have a 10/22 already I would get one. nice and light, compact, accurate.

Got my 10/22 Takedown a while back and love it (first .22LR firearm). Just mounted the Weaver RV-7 scope to it last night. It's accurate enough with the iron sights for the ranges you'd expect to be firing .22LR at...

Great little rifles. Co-worker bought one a few months ago. Tons of fun, reliable, easy to shoot. Get one.

However, if high-precision is a must for you, you're looking at the wrong gun for the time being. AFAIK, there are no aftermarket barrels for the takedown, so significant improvements in precision aren't an option at this time. If you are a patient person, given how well the rifle is selling, I don't imagine this segment of the market will remain unserved for long. Someone will start selling barrels & bits for the takedown, probably within a year.

I just bought one several weeks ago but i had my eye on one since December. I should have picked it up then and saved myself $30. Oh well. At least i had the foresight to pickup 6 bricks!

I really like it. I have no idea why I waited.

It's the luck of the draw.

I was lucky to get one that had no problems, trigger not heavy, no flaws, shoots VERY accurate etc. No mods. just a scope.

But there are lemons out there.

Overall its a great concept for portability, discretion and ease of storage.

                          Very fun.

Friend showed me the new variant of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown which has a threaded barrel. Makes me want one now.

I bought one from BassPro for $297+tax/fees and I really like it. Mine is pretty accurate with the right ammo. I can shoot a sub 1/2", 5 shot group @25yds with Remington SubSonic and have shot ones about half that size when I really pay attention.

Something I have learned to check on all 10/22s with synthetic stocks is the receiver to stock fitment, which can be hit or miss. Mine had quite a bit of slop and went back to Ruger for a new stock (still just a hint of play) but they paid shipping both ways.
