Jailed my first Ruger 10/22

So I just jailed my first Ruger 10/22 yesterday and not really sure what type of .22 ammo would feed well in it. All comments would be appreciated.

picked mine up last week. been out a couple of times and seems to take anything I've fed it. even the remington thunderbolt unjacketed stuff has worked pretty good, just dirty.

I have shot the following from my "new" 10/22 and it fed everything reliably except for PMC Moderator.

Federal American Eagle 40 grn solids
CCI MiniMag 40 grn solids
CCI Stinger HV HP
PMC Target
Aguila 60 srn SSS *
Remington Subsonic
PMC Predator HV HP
PMC Sidewinder 40 grn RNL
PMC Sidewinder 40 grn RN Copper
PMC Moderator

The Aguila 60 grn SSS keyholes (tumbles) every time but it does that out of all guns that I've tried it in. That must really hurt!!

IMHO there is no more reliable semi-auto than a Ruger 10/22.

I've had good luck with CCI SV feeding flawlessly and being accurate. Good luck finding any.

I haven't had a brand of ammo that my 10/22 just wouldn't run with. A few brands I've had a worse experience with. Both federal and winchester bulk run great and decent groups. Both my 10/22's love cci mini mags!

Any ammo you can find CCI Mini Mag would be a good start.

Picked mine up yesterday, put 400 rnds of blazer/federal through it without one hiccup. Didn't lube or clean it either....very good choice

Cant go wrong with a 10/22, they will shoot what ever u can find.

Get as many types of ammo (50 count packs) as you can find (might be hard with the panic market as it is right now)

Then test the ammo for accuracy and reliability.

Factor which one performs the best against what your wallet can handle.

Haven't found anything yet that either of mine won't eat. FWIW my All Weather is most accurate with Remington GB bulk and Blazer bulk.

Cci works great I run federal bulk packs Winchester 555 boxs Remington gold 22 works out good may have a hiccup once in a while but it's good Pratice in clearing jams and all that good stuff. Try running copper coated ammo much cleaner and easier to clean then if you are shooting lead nose ammo

I want to pick one up soon. I've shot a friends .22lr quite a bit and my dads .22mag and both shoot anything you feed them.
