    CMMG 22 WTF jam

    OK

    Any idea what happened here.

Its a CMMG Alpha .22lr BCG assembly with Taccom reliabilty kit.
Upper is a m16 slick side with standard charging handle.
    WASP barrel.

I had 300 ronds fired during this session
and the bolt failed to go foward.

Removed mag and pulled back CH and same thing.

Removed bolt assembly and this is what came out.

    Federal bulk pack.

    removed the bullet..Bores clear.
    And no issues.

It has never done this in the pas 2000 rounds fired.

Looks like as it fed the round up the ramp the bullet either tilted up or the round was improperly crimped which allowed it to dislodge.

looks like a bullet sheared off during loading its really rare probably a weakness in the lead wire before it was swaged

            And a side note.

Frog lube failed the endurance test for me.
This carrier was completely cleaned and then lube with the green
            stuff.
            Paste and liquid.

Within 200 rounds it got sluggish.
It is normally oiled with slip2000EWL.
            Slip normally is double.

            I'm done with it....
            IMHO.
            range oil..Nothing more

              Slip 2000 is AWESOME.

I used to use Hoppes oil. My .22's would get black sludge on them. When I got the EWL I just hosed it on the sludge in the middle of a range session and after firing a few rounds the sludge turned into a black liquid.

              That stuff is magic.

apparently cmmg knows about this and built this charging handle to keep that and fte from happening.
