So I traded for a Henry H001 and Im trying to decide what to use to aim it with. Previous owner had installed a small scope on it which I intend to remove. Right now Im considering better irons, PA 1x4 "tactical" scope, PA micro dot, or PA 30mm red dot. My convoluted thinking:
Irons - need upgrading but will defintely be fun. Right now Im considering Hi-Viz barrel band front sight and Williams dovetail rear.
PA 1x4 - Should be quick to shoulder and shoot and allows some magnification if I ever do decide to hunt with it (pretty small chance but hey, dont bash my dreams....). Will need an adapter rail.
PA Micro - Should be faster to shoulder and fire than the 1x4. Will also need adapter rail.
PA 30mm - Needs adapter rail. Size, plus the adapter rail, is kinda overkill for such a small rifle and will place optic too high above the rifle (IMHO).
I also have a Marlin 60 in Boyd stock, DIP'd out, bipod, and 3-9 variable mil-dot scope. I can consistently put rounds into a 1x2 square @ 100yds. I recently bought a Marlin XT22 which will definitely need a new stock and I'll probably also be putting a bipod and scope on this one. My 15-22 has a PA micro right now.
What I may end up doing is putting a PA RDS (micro vs 30mm) on the 60, irons on the Henry, and using the bipod and scope off the 60 and putting it onto the XT. I plan on keeping the micro on the 15-22 since it mimicks my primary AR in this set-up.
Thoughts???

Anything larger and the combo begins to look awkward and ruins the balance of the rifle. Skinner sights makes a nice dovetail aperature sight that mount nicely. May have to change the front sight.
. This place is good at that. Helping you spend your money is a close second too. Lol
