I'm over tactical

I've decided to give up building a "tactical" 10/22. Everytime I go shooting I find myself more and more shooting at targets and working on smaller groups. With that in mind I've decided to take the Tapco adjustable stock off of my 10/22 (with new 20" bull barrel) and start looking for a stock better designed for the style of shooting that makes me smile and makes my head hurt sometimes.

I'm also going to replace the new NcStar "tactical" 4-7X scope with something a little bit more suited to these old eyes.
So says me, so it shall be.

You can always get another 10/22. Have one for precision, target shooting, sniping, etc. The other for fun, plinking, varminting, etc. Or you can keep your current stock/accessories and swap back and forth as you please. These 10/22s are so fun to modify. They're like Legos for men.

I'm all about the target stuff. I don't have much for tactical gear unless you consider an AR tactical. I'm a K.I.S.S. and target fan when it comes to most everything.


What barrel did you end up going with? Also, the Fajen adjustable is a really comfy stock especially if you trace out your fingers and groove it a bit for a customized fit.

Why not satisfy both your cravings and do one of those all black or camo "sniper-esque" 10/22 tac-driver builds using a stock like the one above and a .920 barrel?

Me personally, I like them all; from tactical-polymer, to wood with blued steel and brass. As long as it's tastefully put together for a clear purpose, it's all good.

Funny... that's exactly what I did. Down to the mil-dot illuminated 6-18x50 scope. I may build a .17HMR the same way.

Thanks for the input guys. Might as well toss this out there, here's the gear I'm getting rid of. The TAPCO stock system has been modified to fit a .920 barrel. I followed the easy how to vids on youtube.
Soooo if anyone wants to do some horse trading???

Me too, FredoSD!
Tried a couple of times using all the aftermarket stuff and just can't help to go back to the good, old carbine style. Do have a Barracuda stocked build and a few with target stocks and heavy barrels which suit me just fine.
If I want tactical I think I will just go to my Marlin 336 .30-30. Can''t convince the guys at work just how "Tactical" that rifle is!
