Yea I can't beleive they cheaped out on the studs. It really can not be saving them that much to create such a hassle for the end user.

IMO the best option would be to drill a hole and put a real metal stud in (the kind with a nut on the inside)

you can put your 795 into a Dragunov SVD kit for that sniper look. im using a Marlin 60 in this one

I paid <$100 3 or 4 years ago with a rebate from Sports Authority .. wish I'd bought a half dozen now. It had chronic feed problems until I massaged BOTH mags. If you have any problems look at the mags first. If yours is like mine you may want to polish the feed ramp. Mine was pretty crude.
