Just got back from BIG5...

I just checked the online Big 5 ad and all I saw was pellet rifles. Big 5 always sux though so this is nothing new.

Yea a couple weeks ago a manager told me that they would no longer sell any black rifles in "high caliber" (In other words nothing above .22lr) and he said they would still sell the .22s but keep them in the back out of plain view. Said it was a corporate decision after Sandy Hook.. and when he told me this it was less than a week after the shooting took place.

He said they would continue to sell the ammo though, and like the rest of you guys, the shelves are always empty. They tell you to come stand in line at like 10am but I'm at work when it goes on and by 4pm when I get home it's already gone.

Just came back from the one in Tustin. The only sign I saw was a recall for the Chiappa 22 cal. M1 carbine. They had no 223 or 308, or 22. Crazy prices on those tacticools. Can you imagine paying that much for something that goes "pew,pew,pew?"

The Chiappa recall has been posted for sometime in the Carson City store. Also nobody mentioned that yesterdays Big 5 ad only had pellet guns in it I think.

I just looked at the new Big 5 weekly ad, and though I browsed it quite quickly, I don't recall seeing any firearms in there.

The last three newspaper ads have shown no firearms on sale. At least in the Northern California ads.

Dang! I just picked one up a few weeks ago from the forums here that was unused for $600. It didn't seem like a good price at the time but it is starting to sound like it was!

I am pretty sure the Big 5 ad in the paper last week had some rimfire and a bolt action 223 in it... I'm not 100% on that though.

In any case, I'm fairly certain that I won't be buying anything else until this panic is past!
