Mine also says 333 on the order confirmation. If I get 500 in the mail it'll be a nice surprise

Lots of theories on why the shortage but no real evidence as to why. New shooters, .22lr being cheaper, politics, scare tactics from DC, Homeland Security buying up several billion rounds of centerfire (rumor?), Dept of Agriculture buying a bunch of ammo (another rumor?), etc....

Ammo manufacturers are supposedly running at full capacity and just can't keep up with demand. Lots of rumors, little factual information. Think we just have to ride it out, can't last forever.
The only thing certain .. demand has not waned. The US domestic 22LR annual production of 4.2 billion rounds is being absorbed, even while being augmented by a plethora of foreign suppliers. Brass Addiction, especially with 22LR, is fostered by the "Gunbot" sites we all peruse .. seeing premium 22LR going for triple what is was .. bringing up the demand for the "Bulks" .. and hence higher prices.

As to the other calibers, facts are found for procurement's, and rumors are put forward as speculation as to their need/justification. The DHS ordering hundreds of millions of rounds of .40 S&W hollow points .. for practice .. let alone the 2.4 billion round total .. does raise some eyebrows, as HP rounds are not typically used for practice .. that's a hell of a lot of'em .. and they cant even be "Lent" to our military, as .40 S&W is NOT a NATO round.

So .. as usual .. there are two distinct camps .. peruse them both and draw your own conclusions. For the "Conservatives" viewpoint .. http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...rles-c-w-cooke .. for the "Liberals" you have http://www.infowars.com/tsa-to-purch...of-ammunition/ .. etc.etc.

For my personal opinion, I just consider myself a Mushroom .. expecting to be fed BS .. puttin' back some rounds whilst the politicos spend money and spin yarns .. NSA or ammo shortages .. a tinfoil hat won't save ya .. but maybe get you an invite to the NPRK .. lol (Dennis Rodman). As to the 22LR "shortage" specifically .. the math is pretty simple. Divide 5 billion rounds by 1 million shooters .. that's a measly 5,000 per .. and You you have put back how many Thousands in the last twelve months?? If that 5 billion rounds of 22LR were just used up Only in the 11 million ubiquitous Marlin Model 60's in the field, that's only 455 rounds per year .. 38 rounds a month.

Peace to All .. Happy Hunting .. Essayons!

I spent two months buying ammo. Yep, I am the reason for your ineptitude to find ammo. I am done for a while so you should have no problem now. Got to love the entitled Internet bullies.

The more I thought about your response the more it pissed me off. I freely share my finds with others on this forum. I give ammo to my immediate family and friends and yes I gave some to my scout troop. I shouldn't have to justify anything to you, but don't question my character.

Thanks bkk6869. 333 rounds is better than 000 rounds. It all adds up.
Added 50 rounds 9mm and shotgun shell holder and shipping was only $8.95.

Limit of one for 333 rounds? Not buying.

limit of however many times you want to clear your browser history really. i did three because my dad and brother aren't fast enough on a computer to ever find ammo.

Your time would be better spent searching for ammo than accusing another member of "screw the rest" of us (which, by the way, he isn't doing . It ain't gonna help you find any ammo.

Was thinking the same I bought 1 as an adder and a box of Win SuperX to an order of PMC 223 at $7.99 each. It let me order 25 (no limit?) so the 22lr is just a cherry on top for me.

Cabelas still has 333's, I bought 1 and than later bought a box of 333 plus a aguila 50rd for same freight; see if they both go thru; maybe really loosening up?

                            Remington Thunderbolt $20

Add some of these on sale targets to your order to off set shipping and kill the $3 small order fee.

Shipping with targets was $17, beats waiting in line at Big 5

Laser Handgun Trainers can be a great substitute for live ammo training. They cost less in ammo and save wear and tear on your valuable firearms. But the training is only as good as the realism they bring to the practice. It pays to bring as much realism to each practice shot as you can. You are training more than your hand-eye coordination, more than on-target accuracy. You are training your senses, your muscles, your nervous system and your ability to control the adrenalin you produce during a shoot. Leave one element out of your training and you just aren't training effectively. You need to consider a full featured laser trainer like the BFR Laser Handgun Trainers that are specifically engineered to provide the full training experience as close to live ammo training as possible. http://www.blrmachining.com/BFRLaserTrainer.html
