Remington N&I .22 LR "Golden Bullet"
Maybe not the right Forum, but...
Was in Walmart the other day looking at the carcass that was once their fully-stocked ammo case and noticed several bulk boxes of this Remington .22 LR 225/box ammo.
I normally buy the Federal bulk fodder but since I was low and needed some anyway, I bought all Eight of the remaining shelved boxes. The Salesperson said they had found Four cases of it misplaced in the stockroom and had just put one case out.
While I was being rung-up, I got to talking with the guy behind me about Walmart's collusion with the Current Regime's assault on the Second Amendment - no restocking of ammo for the foreseeable future - and he ended up buying the second case.
Over the span of the time it took the salesperson to dig out more ammo, I carefully deliberated and assessed my .22 LR ammo requirements for Marksmanship training for my boys over the next year or so, and as I was already at the counter, I ended up buying another whole case.
The next guy in line bought the last one.
Yikes!
Hope it's at least as good as the price was.
Anybody have any experience with it?
Thanks.

I hate the golden bullets. If you do some research a lot of others agree with it depends on your .22. I have a umarex colt m4 ops and I almost would rather not shoot it with this ammo. Last range session I went through 4-10 round clips with 5 misfires/fail to fires. just my opinion though I won't buy the stuff again. Hope it works for your rifle because .22 is getting real hard to find!Heckler and Koch USP 9mm Full Size

With the current conditon were in right now, you got to buy what you can get if your running low. Remington .22 ammo is my last pick if I had choices. They got the "worst" reputation when it comes to .22 ammo. Heck I bought a brick of Remington Thunderbolt about 5 years ago and it was so bad, I was ready to throw the stuff in the garbage after the second box. I didnt because thats bad mojo. You did right all things considered. Hope that ammo works out with you though.Cowboy Action Shooter

Hate them. "New and improved" my bottom! One blew up in chamber and messed up my barrel in my AR-22 upper. Now, the barrel is at manufacturer waiting for a replacement. They may screw me and make me pay for it as they seem to be making a lot of excuses about how I was using it and they they "never recommend using Remington GB ammo." DO NOT use these in semi-auto rifles. They are much better for bolt action.
FYI, No issues in my friend's XT-22 at all. In fact, he likes them more than AE 36g CPHP. Once I get my Rem 582 restored, I will try them in that since I have 2 boxes left. Once these are gone = never buy again.Last edited by Jet Setter; 01-24-2013, 9:17 PM.*********************

OP, pay no attention to the "GB is crap" whiners.
I always love these "this or that .22 ammo is crap because it won't work in (blank)!" posts. It's been well established that .22LR firearms in general function better with some ammo than others. If it doesn't fire in one .22, try it in another, but don't condemn it just because it won't work well in any .22 that you have. To the whiners I say then don't buy it, that leaves more for me and my ever-hungry dedicated .22 AR and Advantage Arms Glock conversion that eat them like candy.
I keep at least three brands of .22 ammo on hand for exactly that reason and don't turn up my nose when another brand comes available during times like these. If they don't work for you, you can always swap them. If you have a revolver or bolt-action, you're in fat city as they generally aren't as ammo-sensitive as semi-autos.Last edited by Grumpyoldretiredcop; 01-19-2013, 3:00 PM.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

I've had great luck with them in both my rifles. A dew ftfs but nothing I can't work through. Great for plinking and teaching my boys how to shoot. It is a bit dirty but doea the job. If you have any issues pr dont like them, I'll gladly buy you out so my boys can shoot.Comment
