That's possibly why they let the shopping card deal go on for so long.

They won't net the same total profit by diverting more inventory to the stores.
I very much doubt that they make money on shipping. Shipped anything heavy lately? So many are getting the $5 shipping, and that's a money loser on one brick. I don't know what kind of discount they get from Fed Ex and/or UPS, but even Cabela's full price shipping charge is way less than I can ship anything for.

I understand your logic, but respectfully disagree. Big C S&H is very cheap. You cannot tell me it is profitable to UPS a brick of ammo for $6. Nor can you tell me that folks are not more likely to buy add on sales when visiting a physical store. They will buy many other things including soda and candy at the cash register. Truly the only reason any brick and mortar stores sell online is to stop people from buying from other online folks like amazon. Certainly the online platform makes perfect sense in today's world, but that is also based on a model of more supply than demand. Not the case with 22.

Or if they were really smart they would continue to sell online like Gander, but require additional items like the target with a brick deal that was mentioned in another post from PSA.

My order show's in stock with a delivery date of 3/31. My phone has a cart still open so that will be a purchase I make tomorrow. Just want to say thanks for this thread, now I can teach my daughter to shoot with her Christmas present.

Some good points. I was thinking more of the full bore shipping, not CLUBFIVE, but the future will be what the big C wants it to be on the 22 ammo front.

Come to think of it, think of all the packing materials they will save (allegra)

Good while it lasted, but suspect that while the mechanisms to procure ammo might change a bit at Cabelas, it will mostly be the same subset of folks scooping up the ammo.

Like in fishing, where 95% of the fish are caught by 5% of the fishermen so goes the hunting of 22LR.

Now, I need to step away from the keyboard and begin my 12 step program for ammo detox.

It's funny. I have been buying 22lr at the rate of a couple of bricks per month for a couple of months. I checked my stash and decided I didn't need anymore for a while. Yesterday I noticed that Blazers were up and seeing that most of the great links are getting closed I ordered one. Today I tried my custom links just to see what was out there and... they no longer work. I guess it's a good thing I ordered that last brick. Now what am I going to do with all the extra time I have? House work? Yard work? The remodel I've been promising my wife for five years?

I know I am now, don't have to hover over my desk/phone all day & night anymore

My local Cabela's had a door buster on M22 recently. They had 200 bricks of m22 for $45 each and when they ran out, they started selling blazers for $22/brick with a limit of 2 per person to make up for the m22s being sold out. They had about 500 bricks of blazer according to the guys at the gun counter. I can only imagine the line.
