As noted, it was just one bad batch. More worrisome the only squib I've ever seen in .22 was with Winchester. Luckily the guy caught it and borrowed a rod and pushed the bullet back out of his rifle before firing again. I think you just have to expect that the quality control on the 5/cent round ammo isn't going to be the same as the 8/cent mini mags let alone the good stuff (Eley, Lapua, etc.).
Sometimes you can get cheaper offerings from a higher end company that are unexpectedly good - CCI Blazers (very close to Mini Mags other than the copper wash, I wonder if they're also being made on older gear or something), Aguilla uses some old gear and priming recipe that Eley sold them and set up and it's surprisingly good, sometimes you'll find SK Magazine which is bulk packed SK/Lapua ammo that didn't quite meet standards (if it passes it's labeled Lapua or Wolf Match).
