I think I'm in love but a bit of an over kill for a .22.

However I did find a poor man's version.

The best feature is the mount. The bottom is see through, so you can see your iron sights and it has the rails on top so you can mount a dot sight if you want too.
You can't see the sights on a 10/22 as soon as you mount the rail on it. Its one or the other unless you get rings that mount directly to the receiver. I agree with the fixed 4x Leupold but with a takedown I would keep stock irons on it and make a separate heavy target 22.

You're right about the iron sights Jon. It's more for an AR-15

I did find these cool little scopes.

    Leapers/UGT Accushot.

Only draw back is the lens is a little big but has all the bells and whistles.

By the way Marlando. Did get a chance to go to the Bass Pro Shop and got to look at the Nikon scope. T he are very nice an I love the BDC reticles. It's just a little bigger than I want for the 10/22.

norinco and red star used to make spiffy sks scopes that were short enough to fit on that wobbly cover mount and not interfere with the stripper clip guide they were of decent quality

also there was a carry handle/weaver type adapter for use with the colt carty handle bullet drop type scopes

Whatever you do, do not get a Hawke scope. The tubes are paper thin and get crushed easily by rings.
