Thanks all for the information. You gave me a lot to work with. I am slowly leaning away from the Quebec and getting the CMMG dedicated upper, for that stainless steel bolt. Kind of liked the Quebec because price was reasonable at Atlantic and the instant gratification of having a complete rifle. I guess there was a trade off.

Dave N., do you have a store website I can look at?

Dave N is a LEO (retired?) That does product testing for cmmg. He is not a vendor, he just hooks us up with good prices.

Shoebox, if you combine a CMMG dedicated upper with a polymer lower (e.g., New Frontier Armory) you can put together a good dedicated 22LR AR15 for under $500, and be ready to drop an 223 cal upper on it if you choose later.

The polymer lowers are great value for $.

This is a really dorked up question, that's more general AR related. A lot of the 22LR CMMG flat top dedicated upper come with "Low Profile Railed Gas Block". I primarily prefer iron sights and intended on putting an A2 style removable rear sights. But who sells front sights that will be level, that attaches to the Low Profile Railed Gas Block?

I am searching around (probably in all the wrong places) and not sure at all what's compatible. A lot of them look like they're meant for front rails that are already level with the flat top.

I am hoping there's a removable A2 style front sights that work with the Low Profile Railed Gas Block. Thanks.

The only upper that has the low gas block is the Quebec. The low profile gas block is a waste of time and money.
CMMG also sells a reciever height gas block model that gives you many more options for front sights.
It used to be the M4 LEP. Now it is designated the M4 LE mod E

Thanks. Before I saw your post, I saw some old postings on AR15.com referring to the lack of options for the CMMG's low gas block. Since I won't be using optics for a long time, this is a deal killer.
