CMMG AR 22LR Quebec M422?

Looking for more opinions on CMMG Quebec dedicated 22LR AR rifle. How does this compare to the mostly polymer M&P 15/22?

I am noticing the magazines for the Quebec is more expensive compared to the M&P 15/22.

There's also nomenclature differences out there. One is called the Quebec-A, M4LE, and the M422. Are they talking about the same rifle?

The "A" refers to the complete rifle with mil spec buffer tube assembly.
The standard has a polymer, solid tube and cannot be used with a 5.56 upper.

Personally, I would always go with the stainless option for the bolt

I run 2 dedicated CMMG uppers and will be looking for a 3rd one day soon.
I currently use the 20" Government Model uppers and for mags I use the black dog mags.
The configuration works without flaw and is highly accurate.
I can reach out to 100 yards right now with fairly decent accuracy.
I had the M&P and I liked the rifle, I just wanted something in the 20" Government Model and the M&P could not get me there

I would get the CMMG over any other brand 22LR AR because Mags are more readily available. I have the CMMG M4LE 22LR upper and it works great. You can use the overpriced CMMG mags or you can use the Black Dog Mags, which work very well for me.

I agree with everything everyones already said here... With respect to the CMMG Gen 2 mag prices... Keep in mind, these things are truly indestructible and IMHO worth the cash if its going to be a hard use setup. I run tens of thousands of rounds through my 4 setups a year and they hold together like no other mag i've tried.

Hi, so I think you're referring to the alternative of what I've been seeing, which the "phosphate action". Are they referring to a phosphate bolt? Any major disadvantage to using that?

You can use the overpriced CMMG mags or you can use the Black Dog Mags, which work very well for me.

Thanks to referring me to this alternative magazine. I searched a little bit and someone complained that the 10 round mags were only holding 9. Did you have the same experience?

It will be easier to clean if you get the stainless steel carrier and bolt. You'll also be able to shoot longer before cleanings.

Yeah, the finish isnt has hard making the rails easier to bend, its harder to clean, it has a 200rd+ break-in period, etc...

I believe that problem was with the older BDM mags, I have the ones that were mentioned from 44mag.com and they hold 10.

Just order a M4 CMMG upper from Dave N/Shadow65

I did, no issues residing on a dedicated lower (polymer or aluminum)

The stainless is stronger, smoother, uses less lube, is easier to clean and stays clean longer.
It's all I use.
