I thought i would add a couple photos of two of mine I mentioned earlier.Top one is a Colt Lightning Pump 22. I had to put a new repro forearm and a work on it for a month to get it working properly. It was all in parts when I bought it for 125.00. Left it pretty much the way I found it other than the new forearm and reassembly. Metal on the Colt is all original finish. I did clean up the stock however. It was made in 97 or 98 according to Colt.

Second one is a Marlin 1891 made in 1894 that I am just finishing up. It was a project for sure. Was only a Barrelled action when I recieved it. No sights,wood,buttplate,or magazine. Also was a missing a couple small inside parts. Has a great bore and chamber.

Wood,sights,magazine and buttplate are all repro stuff on the Marlin. Still a good looking rifle now. I like it anyway.

Both actually have very nice bores and I do shoot them both. I had to put a chamber insert in the Colt as it was loose. Left the rifling alone however as it was good. Thanks

What about semi-autos? The 151M(b) my dad owns is in near-new condition, the only 151s I've seen on the market were all pretty beat up....

I wouldn't say they are all beat-up, grabbed this one off a guy on C-list. 151m(a). No rear irons on it, still has peep, I added the scope, just needed a good cleaning and oiling.

I recently picked up a 1960 Marlin Mountie from the estate of a WWII fighter pilot, by no means pristine, but has become my favorite...

What about semi-autos?

Remington 550-1P. Sweet semi that shoots anything/everything right into one ragged hole at 50 meters.

All Remington/Marlin/Mossberg's before 1960 are gonna be good.

My Rem 512 shoots better than my Anschutz 64. Really.

I love old .22's. Almost nothing better.

Don't have a picture handy, but my Winchester model 90 in WRF is a good shooter and always gets a second look at the range. WRF is pretty easy to get these days, from CCI and elsewhere. It's 102 years old and is still a a viable plinker / varment rifle.

Sears and Roebuck could be quite a few makers. They did not make guns just got them from Companys like Winchester,Savage,Marlin,Remignton and so on and had their name put on them. Somewhere there is a website showing cross referance. Post what stamping you find on it and I can probably tell you who made it.

Remington Model 34 from 1934, I inherited it when I was 12 or 13. I shot it a lot, sometimes the action got tight, I would just give it some oil. I had no idea how to clean it or take it apart. It always went bang! In my late 20's I got more involved with guns and learned about cleaning and disassembly. It is one of my most favorite guns to shoot.
