I recently bought a Marlin 795 and the sights were canted to the left. If you pick one up, please, please, please, take a look very carefully down the sights and double and triple check the sight alignment. There are so many 795s with canted sights now-a-days. It will bet 100% worse if you switch to tech-sights because they are higher than the stock sights and exaggerate the angle.
Hi guys, new gun owner here.
Curious what a reasonable price for a new 795 would be these days.
A Dick's near me has them for $160 + tax/DROS, coming out to about $200 when it's all said and done. Will be waiting until July 4th to see if they have a deal going, but if not, is that price reasonable?
Thanks for the help!Comment

Browning has the same deal going on with the Buckmark lineup. I just recently purchased a new Browning Buckmark UDX Plus for just $417.00 out the door with the rebate.Fall 2016 Marlin Cash Back Rebate

I recently installed Tech Sights on my Marlin 795. I looked down the sights and was only able to see the blade. I moved my head closer to the hole, but I was only able to see the full front sight past the cheek weld. If it helps I was in a isosceles stance and I'm 5'4". I don't have the rifle with me at the moment due to circumstances at home.Comment

So, I splurged and did a custom Boyd's Pro Varmint. Pepper laminate, adjustable comb, laser stippling. I'm waiting for it to arrive, it'll probably be a while yet. I'm excited. The factory stock is too light, and the ergo isn't ideal for me. I'm pretty sure this will make it much easier to shoot an already very accurate rifle.
I have Tech Sights and I love them, and I'm trying to figure out how to mount a scope without removing them, with the scope on a QD mount(which would put the adjustable comb to very good use). I'm thinking of getting the DIP rail and just mounting it just forward of the rear sight, which I have as far to the rear as I can get it. The scope would need rings / a mount high enough to clear the sight.sigpic

Did you ever get help with this? Tech Sights now has different sized apertures, maybe a bigger aperture would solve your problem. Perhaps giving them a call would help.sigpic
