    AR-7 or 10/22 Takedown?

I was looking to a get AR-7 and was stuck on the fence whether to get one or a 10/22 Takedown.

    Opinions?

I have a Takedown and love it. Never have shot the AR7. Takedown is very accurate and it takes down with the push of a button. AR7 looks cool too though!

Guys annoying what's with throwing everything around? Super cool guy I guess? Also my ar-7 runs flawless but it's from Henry. In a free state a ruger charger seems most handy

It is ugly, and holding a big hollow stock is weird but good for its purpose I guess

Let's make this a real simple decision. Ruger 10/22's have been good forever. Ar-7's have been spotty at best with Henry fixing the problems as of late. The Ruger 10/22 is the best selling rifle ever (it must be right?) and there are plenty of them in service and being used daily. There are tons of possibilities with modifications, accessories and the like. There are a multitude of different magazines available, albeit not all are legal in Cali. Can you mount an optic to an AR-7? Can you buy extra mags just about anywhere that sells guns and gun stuff? Price wise, not that I can buy at Turners, but I think they sell the Take down for $289.99 if you are with Calguns. So for $60 more, it is a bargain in my mind and the decision is one of the easiest. Now, if you are looking for the lightest, then the AR-7 beats the Ruger. As to the Marlin Papoose, that was not what was asked in this thread + I have not seen one for sale in about a year. I thought I had located one near my area, but the seller all the sudden backed out of our deal. Maybe he realised how stupid it would have been to sell a gun like that at this time.

For me the decision is easy. There are no pre-ban 30 round mags for the AR-7.
