HP22a should be recalled by Phoenix Arms

Earlier today I wrote a favorable review of the Phoenix Arms HP22a. That post can be found here:

A few minutes after I hit post I decided to clean the little guy. Well, to my dismay, I found that the frame was cracked above the safety in the magazine well. I called Phoenix Arms and left a message and they have not called me back. I am sure they will. But, I've been searching the internet about this issue and the consensus seems to be that this gun develops the frame crack after shooting 2k-3k rounds. This really irks me because I've spent a ton of money on magazines and kits to change how the safety and magazine release works. I really do like firing this gun. But, how can anyone live with the fact that the frame starts to crack so soon. Doesn't this issue justify a recall?

I've attached three of my pictures to this post. Plus, I found the following links to someone elses HP22 that had the same issue:

I really wish I had a taken picture of my original HP22a that had a 1/4 inch chunk of metal missing from the same area.

What do you think about this?

I know it is especially since it seems to affect all of these HP22s. I came across a post of someone who had his 10 years (but, he never used his) before the frame gave out. So, this issue has been around for a long time. To their credit, Phoenix did replace his gun. But, it doesn't excuse the fact that they are producing a defective product.

Get what you pay for... We won't touch those due to these issues. They always replace them but you have to Redros. Another $25 gone

The Talk is that is why HP22 is recommending Standard Velocity Ammunition.
I use whatever I have for the other 22's in mine.
No issues in Three Years, yet...

Have a little over 2k through mine, with no cracks but I don't shoot high velocity ammo as it states in the manual to only shoot standard velocity ammo..... for a little over $100 can't ask for much more

All the ammo that I shot through the HP22a that they sent me a couple of months ago was CCI Standard Velocity (500 count) which costs me about $10more than the CCI Blazers (525 count) that I buy for $15.99 for my M&P 15-22. You know, I really wanted the HP22a to work out. Oh well, I need to start saving for a good gun like a Ruger 22/45. I just want to make sure that people know the truth about Phoenix-Arms HP22a guns in order for them to not waste their money on them. I made the mistake of reading a couple of good reviews on the HP22a. But, I bet those reviews were written by people who never shot more than a couple hundred rounds through the guns.

I got one over a month now. Around 1300 rounds, so far so good. Will keep an eye out for any cracks that may develop.

On my HP22 the slide develop a crack on the right side, called Phoenix, they told me to send the slide and barrel, three days later new barrel/slide arrived in the mail. I did fire a couple of magazines loaded with stingers lol.

No, I've used 200 rounds of CCI HV 36 gns, on my first range trip, then got a couple of boxes of 550 and 525 bulk Federal and Winchester, both still HV. I haven't had a chance to find standard velocity rounds at wallyworld yet.

Occasionally, Walmart will carry Remington Standard Velocity. But, I've ordered CCI Standard Velocity from sgammo.com in bulk or from palmettostatearmory.com when they have free shipping deals. I've been buying my ammo online for the most part. I have about 8,000 rounds of .22lr ammo right now. 1,500 of it is CCI standard velocity .22lr.
