No bullet button needed but the 10rnd. limit does apply, unless tube fed.

You can only have greater than 10 rounds if the gun is tube fed.
If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions.

You can use magazines that hold more than 10rds if they are legally owned.
Using gun control to stop crime is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline!
You don't have to get permission to exercise a RIGHT. If you have to get permission or can be told no by the government it is no longer a right. IT IS A PRIVILEGE!

So yes with those you will have to have 10 round magazines or magazines blocked to only 10 rounds when you bring them back into CA

While 22 cal rifles do not need magazine locks...
All pistols with magazines outside the grip do need a magazine lock even rimfire in CA.

So if you end up with a mp5 22lr pistol or a Ruger 10/22 "Charger" pistol, AR style pistol etc you will need a magazine lock.

Might I also suggest the Marlin 795 rifle? There is a mega thread about these great rifles going on here. (They have great barrels that are much more accurate then 10/22's out of the box)

Pistols that have the magazine well outside of the grip require magazine locks, no matter the caliber.
