This looks like fun and I'd like to try it sometime, but I'm a bit confused on the scoring. Take the 25 yd irons, there's 4 targets, total of 12 shots with bulls-eyes scoring 10pts. That would max out at 120pts plus a possible extra 3 bonus points per target for 12pts. Seems like highest possible score could only be 132 pts. What am I missing, I've never scored targets before.
ah ha, think I figured it out. The targets for August were different than Septembers perhaps?Last edited by troutbum54; 09-06-2012, 5:11 PM."The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese" - Steven WrightComment

You got it. Make sure that you use the current month's target otherwise they will not count. For scoring purposes also be aware that if your shot lands on (or barely touches) one of the lines between the circles, it is counted as the higher score. Ex: Hits the line between the 9 and 10 circle, that shot counts as a 10.This looks like fun and I'd like to try it sometime, but I'm a bit confused on the scoring. thanks Izzy for that info, it didn't dawn on me till after I posted that the targets might be different. Figured the problem was on my end though."The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese" - Steven WrightComment

I'll get a target or two up this month. Last month I got distracted by the arrival of my new Springfield Range Officer. Ended up spending my months' range time (and ammo money) shooting that one instead- wow, love that gun.
I also am picking up a CZ 455 this week. I want to try my hand at some rifle targets.
This hobby is getting expensive!!!

Thanks Izzy. The Browning Buckmark Silhouette is a great gun, you should try one out. I took my 10/22 to the range that day also but I have trouble seeing the sights, and still shot better with the pistol. I do need to get the CZ 455. Also I shot 25 and 15 yard offhand but I did not do very well so I will shoot offhand targets again next week.Comment

Shot the 25 and 50 yd Iron Sight targets today and the 50 Scoped target. Did an upgrade on the CZ UltraLux that was used to shoot the Irons. Used the Savage BTVS to shoot the 50yd scoped target.
First up the 25yd Irons, Score 126.

Next the 50 yds Irons, Score 114.

50yd Scoped Target, Score 167. I was having real problems with the scope holding zero. Unusual for a Weaver that's less than a year old. Gonna have to send it to Weaver for evaluation.

I never really liked the way that the original stock on the CZ rode the bags, very narrow on the bottom of the forend and difficult to use with a scope due to the drop in the stock at the rear. So she now wears a Rimfire Varmit Thumbhole from Boyd's. It shoots a little better now but the big difference is that it now shoots 4 different ammos nearly equally. Wolf MT, Federal 711B, Aguila Pistol Match and surprisingly, Federal American Eagle 38gr HP HV. I shot another 50yd Iron target which is posted in the Rimfire MOA thread. Groups were much better but off the bull so score for this match was not as good. Here she is in her new clothes.

Thanks. Those are BRNO Target Aperture Sights (peep sights). Actually made for BRNO rifles which are the predecessors to the CZ rifles. On a good day I shoot as well with them as I do a scope out to 75yds. Only good for target work, would not work for hunting.Comment

Shot the 100yd Iron and Scope targets today. First up is the 100yd Scoped target. Shot with Savage .17hmr using Hornady 17gr ammo. Being excited about the first 4 I pulled the last one. Score 61.

100yd Iron Sight target shot with CZ UltraLux with BRNO Target Aperture Sights and Lapua Center-X ammo. Score 50.
